Who do you root for... besides your home team?

Is there a team that you go for besides your home team?
this year i think i'd have to say Celina...
when gainesville plays celina i want it to be like last year, both teams undefeated!
And Forney...i want gainesville to play forney in the 3rd round at texas staduim...i think that would be a good game.

I also root for the Denton Ryan Raiders. I saw my cuz play last year, as a sophomore, in the D2 final at the Alamodome. I would love to see them there again. Congrats to the Raiders for beating Coppell last night in a shutout.

Everman, Bellville, Burnet, Bridge City and Bandera. These are easy to root for because of their classy fans and dedication to sportmanship. They coincidenlty have been major opponents to Sinton's recent play-off runs. These have set themselves apart each and every time whenever the opportunity presented itself. :cool:
Until recently, I couldn't root for Cuero. Bad memories from the 80's. But I'm warming up to them and they are becoming a favorite to root for. Just not this week.
Also, any team from region 4 in the semis and finals.

I am from Ballinger but pull for all West Texas Teams. Specifically, I pull for Greenwood because of RangerMom, Sweetwater because of Wildstangs and several nice young men from Sweetwater, Vernon because of Z-motion, Merkel because of Knightmoon and because it has been so long since they have been in the playoffs. I also pull for Clyde and Wylie because of many very nice posters from those teams who I can't recall all of their names. I also root for Sinton because of Sinton66 and the other Sinton posters, Cuero because of Gobbla, Forney because of many good Forney posters, Bridge City, Decatur etc...etc...Many of these teams I couldn't find on a map a few years ago but find myself rooting for their team due to the posters on 3adownlow. Thanks for broadening my horizons.

Besides da Mules....Greenwood (I liked their fightig spirit when they played Muleshoe with a bunch of sophs in 2000 and also was impressed at last year's Sweetwater Region 1 final game), 1A Stratford (a very fine program, and my nephew is on the 0-line,) New Mexico CLovis Wildcats, perennial NM state power & our neighbor just across the state line, and the Harlowton Engineers (Montana), my high school alma mater.
To heck with the Dallas Cowboys as long as Jerry Jones owns so much as the doormat.

Any 20-3a team, that is, Newton, Kirbyville, Woodville, Diboll, Huntington, and of course, Jasper. Also Bridge City. Jasper has played them so many hard fought games over the years when both teams were in the same 4a district.

My train of thought resembles that of Vet93. I am a die-hard Merkel Badger fan, but I like West Texas football in general. West Texas produces some really good football teams every year. Every community in West Texas support their teams even in lean times. I am a huge football fan, but I really like the kids. High school football is so much more exciting than college or the pros. The kids are playing for the right reasons--because they love the sport. How could you not like the Ballinger Bearcats? Sweetwater Mustangs? Snyder Tigers? Clyde Bulldogs? oh ok, even the Wylie Bulldogs--lol? Everyone of these schools are rich in football tradition. Most of them are all rivals with each other, but that just make things more exciting.

We have a great rivalry with Ballinger and Merkel that always makes for an exciting game.
I am a die hard Wylie Fan but when Wylie drops out of the playoffs I root for 6 3-A or other teams in our area.
It just does not get any better than this!!

I also support most of the South Texas teams but this is it for the most part.
