ANOTHER OUTSTANDING THING ABOUT TE BRAHAMAS ARE THE SIDELINES YOU CANT FIND A ANOTER TEAM WHO HAS A SIDELINE LIKE OURS THATS BECAUSE IT IS RAN BY ME AND MY BOT MOGO "THE SIDELINE CREW"

actually tiny, the "sideline crew" dates back to the 1999 campaign, when "bone" and "hardon" represented. The crew was the heart of the football team, and also marked the beginning of a new and successful bellville football era. The sideline crew is symbolized by the forming of the 'S' followed by 'C' with hand signals.

yes, the bellville sidelines do get into the game. tiny is right he is one of the leaders on the sidelines. if you here someone yell "get it up sidelines" that is him. he does a good job of getting everyone into the game.

That sideline crew better GET IT UP because when Sinton steps on the field, Bellville will need all of the support they can get. GO SINTON!!!!!!

sinton, sorry i am answering your question on this post, but i havnt seen sinton play. I , like the 99% of the other people dont watch every football game in texas. So we look at newspapers and write-ups of the teams. After analayzing a little bit, i've come to (my) conclusion that Sinton has the edge, also i agree with husker, the sideline crew will play a part in the game. Whoever wants this game can have it.

Ok, Im a little ignorant to South Texas traditions. Could someone explain to me exactly what the "sideline crew" is?

Jacket, it's something that the "players" who dont exactly get "playing time" are proud of. They are the "spirit organizers" of the team. They "Get it up" on the sideline to boost morale and what not... does that make any more sense?

It's not only in south texas. I'm from dfw and we had a "sideline crew" but they went ahead and called themselves the npg(no play group)

Oh,ok. We had that too. We just didnt have a name for it. We just called them "the JV players that get to come along for the ride".

Jacket, you crack me up. You made a pretty bold prediction with Mathis. I hope you are right. I am glad that game is here in San Antonio. I will head to the dome for that one. Sure would be nice for a 30-3A team to upset the defending champs! Especially since South Texas football is supposedly far below the caliber of ball in the rest of the state. (which I don't believe by the way.)

no jacket, these players were varsity players who didn't play very much. Just like the sidelines crews mentioned above.

We have a "scout team" in Aledo, and we have defensive and offensive leaders. They get recognition in pep rallies and such they are the spirit of the whole team. The coach even refers to them as scout team captains and the players are proud of it. I think it adds a little spice to the game.

Oh,ok. We had those too, but they werent exactly proud of it. We also had JV players that would get to suit up and stand on the sidelines on Friday nights, but they didnt get to play. They were there for moral support, to make the team look bigger, etc...

Well where I went to school most of the scout team were the starters who didn't play both ways. But the rest of the scout team, who didn't play, had pretty much the same effect as yours.
