Big Hoops Games this week

Only a week and a half left in the regular season....and things are really heating up....lots of huge games with playoff implications...Tuesday night Pilot Point and Van Alstyne square off in a huge 9-3A game...in 5-3A Bowie and Iowa Park square off...Friday night is a huge game in 8-3A when Everman and Kennedale square off for the district tittle...in 11-3A Lindale and Mt Vernon square off for the district..in 15-3A Pittsburg will look to avenge its loss to White Oak...any game in 16-3A is big as Tatum is stretching its lead but 4 other teams are in a war for the last 2 spots Carthage, Chapel Hill, Center and Rusk can not afford and setbacks..17-3A is also coming down to the wire as Robinson has a one game lead on LaVega and Gatesville and Waco Connally is one game out of the playoffs...13-3A has a probable 3 way tie for first between Crandall, Wilmer-Hutchins and Dallas Madison all 3 are in the playoffs but a playoff likely will decide playoff seeding..21-3A has a big game next Tueday on the final day of the regular season as top 10 foes Kountze and Hardin-Jefferson battle....H-J has a test on Friday as they take on Hardin who has been in and out of the top 20 all year.....whew hope that helps get everyone caught up with the hoops action around the state!!!!

VA outlasts PP again with a 38-36 defensive battle going their way once more. Last minute tip in seals what should be district. Both games go to VA, both by one basket. Barring an upset, Van Alstyne should win district 9.

Well...It's Rivalry week in the NCAA...might as well be for High School also.

I know this is a 3A website, but let's not forget the big game at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum this week - Dunbar VS Poly. There is the possibility that this game will make Coach Hughes the winningest high school basketball coach in the nation. This is a huge deal - and if you are a basketball fan - you really should get out to see these guys in action and pay tribute to this man who has devoted much of his life to Dunbar High School and the kids in Stop Six.
