i wouldnt like being in a 9 team district...like 11-3A

KTJ

That would put Gainesville in Region I.

I don't think Gainesville has ever been Region I--ever! LOL! So many times we thought the UIL would move us (Gainesville--i.e. them) to Region I and they never have, seeing as how Gainesville is on that Region I/II border.

I love it, Matthew! You have succeeded in what I thought was impossible. You have placed the Buckeyes in an even weaker district than 11-3A and that's the weakest one we've been in in my lifetime (and I'm nearly twice your age).

It'll never happen, though. Spring Hill will go in our district, I am relatively certain. And it should be, as it is only 15 miles from Gilmer.

I wasn't aware Hooks and Redwater now had 3A enrollments, but I'll take your word for it.

It will never fly... it makes too much sense!

Looks great, if they could only get that passed.
Travel areas look pretty good!

It all looks good to me Matt. I dont see how you get Forsan moving up to 3A though. I looked at the UIL site and in the last reallignment they only had 191 students.

22-3A looks like it always has to me...

That is an interesting guess. But, for example Anahuac is right by Liberty and Barbers Hill...Why not move them to 22-3A and make that a seven team District and then 21-3A would be reduced to a seven team District also. There is no need in 11-3A being a 9 team faisco when their are 6 teams Districts all around...Thanks for your efforts, but I can't even imagine what the UIL will do.

You left out Manor in D24. They should be in that district again.

If the UIL goes by Matt's numbers, then Decatur would be 4A. They turned in 875 students.

Don't tell me ya moved Burnet up to 4A.

Also i would switch 27 and 25 because people already have trouble in our district trying to figure out if were 25 3A or 26 3A becuase some of the scedules have 25 and some have 26 witch is kinda goofy.

13 3a would not be very competitive. It would give the inside shot to Daingerfield and Spring Hill every year. It might be all right for the other sports though.

Sorry Matt-
Not enough schools in 3a. They'll need at least 215 and probably closer to 220 with all the 4a and 5a new schools.

Matthew328
01-05-2004, 10:35 PM
I can almost guarantee there will be less than 200 schools in 3A next year....the gap between the large schools and small schools is too large...the UIL will address this problem...heck there may only be 28 districts next year in 3A....

ive heard that too Matt...you might be right

Haunta Yo

That's going to put too many schools in 4A and 5A. That's what I think UIL will try and get a hold of.
The gap between the largest and smallest isn't as big of a concern...

5A to 2A has had 32 districts for a long time now. That'd be a MAJOR change! If they do go to 28 districts your magic 8 ball is awesome!! I'm impressed with your going out on a limb.

Matthew328
01-05-2004, 10:53 PM
You could realistically have around 250 in 4A and 5A.....and around 175 or so in 3A...trust me whatever happens 3A as we know it will not exist come Feb.

Matthew,
How come you have Bandera in 3A? When I used your method I came up with an enrollment of 907 for them. I probably did the math wrong but I'm just curious.

WF Hirschi will be in 3A next year down from 4A. Matt you didn't make note of this and with that extra school in there it will mess up your
district 8

Yours:
Decatur
Bowie
Bridgeport
Graham
Vernon
Breckenridge
Iowa Park

Mine:
Vernon
Iowa Park
WF Hirschi
Bowie
Decatur
Bridgeport
Graham

If Burkurnett goes 3A (I think they turned in too big of a number) then Decatur and Bridgeport would be out. Also WF City View is a 2A and taking a lot of WF Hirschi students so they may end up in 3A if not this time then next time.

Not only will Jasper stay in 3A WOS and Silsbee will be dropping.(Just a semi-educated guess)
One thing for sure no one will know for sure until February 3rd.

First 1-3A and 2-3A Muleshoe is south of Dimmitt. Besides Dimmitt will be 2A they only turned in 325.

Talk about a sweet district to be in with only 5 returning starters next year! eek! The Buckeyes would have NO competition in that district, especially with a sub-par Gladewater team for the next few years. No disrespect to those other schools, but Mineola and Sabine especially both realize that they have alot of work to do with their football programs!
Gilmer Buckeye is probably right though. We're probably headed back to the old old old Spring Hill, White Oak, Gladewater, Tatum, and Sabine district which used to be 16-3A. Spring Hill is established, White Oak had a good year, and Stephen Hodge from Tatum scares me to death!

Pittsburg would have to drive through Gilmer to get to both Spring Hill and White Oak. Of course they had to drive through Gilmer to get to Gladewater last year, and that didn't stop the UIL from putting those two teams in a different district than the Buckeyes. Can't wait to see what those "geniuses" come up with this year!
