The Leps start the season away against number 8 Bellville with a new coach and a new offense. Coach Kyle Cooper must know how Bellville has dominated the Leps in recent years and the intensity of this rivalry and realizes what a challenge he has set for himself and his team going into this game. I watched the El Campo scrimmage, and the Leopards had a decent showing against a bigger and very physical Ricebird team with the scoring even at 7-7 on the simulated quarter and 21-20 Ricebirds on the controlled part. The Leps will be in the Spread offense and will be relying heavily on the passing game with several seasoned WRs and two QBs both with strong arms vying for the starting role. The Brahma defense and power running game will be tough to contain. That plus home field advantage gives them a 14 to 21-point edge but we'll see, you still have to play the game.

After watching the El Campo-LaGrange scrimmage, I would say that Bellville wins this one by 28+. To put it lightly, LG has a long way to go.
