Just getting this thread started simply because I am once again looking forward to the new season. Less than two months to go... We have some quality talent coming up to join this remaining group that made it to the SC last year. Go Texans!

Just from the gossip lines. ....Looked like a competitive scrimmage. Touchdowns scored were 4-2 Wimberley. It appears that our running game will definitely be ground and pound. Wimberley OL will be a strong point. We have a very solid DI book ends at the tackle position but it takes the core to make all work, the guards and center, and we have that. Coaches perspective was that we could have ran the ball all night with success. From the clips I have been able to see, LV is big and talented. The QB is legit with a very solid receiving core. Sorry, that is all I have for now.

Hey, thanks. Excited about actual games starting. Scrimmages are hard to judge because we never know what the coach is wanting to see or trying to do. It’s funny how, if it’s competitive, everyone thinks their team “won” the scrimmage. Sounded like they didn’t really let the QB’s run. Maybe, maybe not, but that’s how I understood it. Huge part of LV’s game will be the wheels back there. I’m sure the same goes for WT. Sounds like the live quarters went 17-14 with LV having the edge, but again, that’s really not saying anything. It’s a scrimmage, and these two are generally pretty competitive most years at this point. It’s where you are at the end of the season, and that’s where WT has it figured out. I guess the main takeaway is that neither was appreciably outclassed by the other at this point. The tools are there for both to have a great season. We get those Purple Panthers in a few weeks. Should be fun to see how this year’s matchup plays out with them.

I think it's funny that people think this is funny. One of the weenies from Navarro posted that. It's all they got. Take a visit their way. The corn fields are disappearing fast and cookie cutter subdivisions are popping up everywhere. If we could close the gate from California this would not be an issue here in the hill country.

All the California folks hear about from Texas is the whole "no state income tax" thing. They don't bother to read the fine print. What's the "fine print" you ask?

Texans travel to 5A S.A. Pieper on Friday. This a young school. I believe this may be their 2nd varsity year. They have a very good rpo QB with some good receivers. Dave Campbell picks us by only 3. I think maybe they think too much of Pieper and a little less of us. lol Last year the Texans tossed a shut out 35-0, in Wimberley.

I feel like we think pretty highly of Wimberley we got em ranked #5.....I think this is more about how much better I think Pieper is...new schools typically make a large jump from year one to year two...its hard not to make a jump when you bring back every single player from last year's team...plus I think Pieper's numbers help them..they have all 4 grades in the school now and are real close to being 5A-D1....those numbers especially up front are an edge for them....still think Wimberley wins because they know how to win tough games, its an expectation....not the case at Pieper just yet

We will know more about where we are after Thursday against Brock. They should have beaten Pleasant Grove. Had the 1st down to run out the clock but fumbled trying to stretch the play. The rest was history. WF Hirschi is not as strong as last year but still good. Should be a fun game.

Crazy 2nd half. Brock closed it wthin a point at 28-27 after their xtra point was blocked. Texans made some huge long yardage pass plays to forge ahead late in the 4th and gain the win. 35-27. What a game!

Sadly, I don't see anyone in Region 4 coming close to Wimberley this year.

HOPING y'all get bumped up to 4A D1 next year. Give us plebs a chance to shine!

Hard to say on the numbers. They did not put the signage out for accepting transfers this year which may say something about enrollment numbers. It may however balance out with the folks moving into the area along with the UIL raising the cutoffs like they usually do.

Well, there's a very strong chance realignment will kinda screw with the D16 teams once again.

Word on the street is, current D16 DII member Raymondville will be dropping to 3A, which will leave Port Isabel and La Grulla in the lurch. So there may very well be either one large Corpus Christi + 2 RGV team district, or....the CC area schools that are a little further north get split off and a district with Cuero, Wharton, Sweeny et. al. (think realignment 2016) along with Sinton & Ingleside gets formed, and what's left of CC is in D16 with the 2 remaining RGV (Port Isabel & Grulla) teams.

One other thing I've been hearing is that if Raymondville does drop, both La Grulla and Port Isabel would opt up to D1 and form a district with La Feria, Hidalgo, and Zapata. If THAT happens, then we get the possible Port Isabel vs. Calallen match I've always wanted to watch! We'd probably get our butts kicked but hey.....

Wimberley (3-0) at Fredericksburg (0-3) this Friday. Surprisingly the Billies are without a win. They will bring it as they always seem to do against the Texans. Hope the rain stays away enough to get this one in, not like last year when they rescheduled / delayed the game until the next morning. Go Texans!

Wimberley (4-0) will be home this Friday (homecoming) and welcome in the Lampasas Badgers (4-0). Texans are coming off a 48-10 win over Fredericksburg while the Badgers defeated Pflugerville Connally 36-28. Dave Campbell's has this a 25 pt win for the Texans.

I know it was a bye for us but reflecting on last week, the Texans took care of business against a tough Badger squad 41-20. Lampasas is a young, big, (emphasis on big) and a hungry team and will definitely be a force next year if not later this season. They have a pretty good Burnet Bulldogs team coming up next Friday. Will be interesting to see how they handle that game. Up next, the Texans (5-0) will visit Jarrell Cougars (1-4). Jarrell has an offense that can score (32 pts per game) but a defense that gives up an average of (47 pts per game). Go Texans!

GameDay! Looks to be pretty nice weather. Last night the Texans underclassmen scored big wins with the freshman taking it 47-13 and the JV winning 47-0. Go Texans!

Well, basically the district title is up for grabs. Wimberley (7-0, 2-0) travels to Navarro (5-2, 2-0) on Friday (7:30). Should be a good one. Panthers are a lot healthier than early in the season. I know they have upset on their minds. This is one of the better Wimberley teams come through that I have seen in a while. That peanut play is not allowed this year, Navarro. We'll try not to step out of the back of the end zone on a pass as well. lol

Wimberley (8-0) (3-0) at home tonight against Lago Vista (5-3) (2-1). Hopefully we have a long enough break to get this one in. Texans defeated Navarro last week 48-20. Plenty of reps for the whole team in that one. Gonna be at home and split viewing time between the Rangers and the Texans. Go Rangers...Go Texans!

Thought it was funny the interviewer used the PLC-Sinton game asking coach if he saw something in that game that Wimberley could exploit offensively. I would have used a more recent game than that one. lol
