The UIL suspends Richland Springs (1A- 2) coach Burkhart for 3 seasons for recruiting violation. In summary a Mullin player called Burkhart and the phone call was for 14 minutes. The UIL said Burkhart should have told him that he could not talk to him about coming to play at Richland Springs and ended the phone call immediately.
RSHS also was found in violation of rules and received a 3 year probation, stopping short of a playoff ban.

Didn't the UIL nail Tom Bean today for the same violation and gave them a 3 year postseason ban?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the UIL is finally cracking down on the recruiting. But if they really want to make a difference, they need to start going after these bigger schools that are, allegedly, notorious for doing it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the UIL is finally cracking down on the recruiting. But if they really want to make a difference, they need to start going after these bigger schools that are, allegedly, notorious for doing it.


I'm sure they keep a close eye on Richland Springs. His record there is 232-13 with 9 state titles out of 10 or 12 trips to state.

Someone has to turn them in and there has to be evidence.....easier said than done

UIL banned some student athletes from Tom Bean.....the hearing on the post-season ban has not been heard yet
