Two really good scrimmages. Aledo, obviously, the better of the two. That will be an amazing measuring tool for the Jackets. But Glen Rose could put together a nice season in Div. II.

Burnet scrimmaged Lago Vista and had a good showing from what I hear.

Port Isabel had an excellent showing against a much bigger 5A DI opponent in Weslaco East.

Controlled: 2-1 Weslaco East
1 live quarter: 7-7 tie, scrimmage ended with PI's 2nd team offense about to score on Weslaco East's 1st team D.

On paper, Weslaco East "won" the scrimmage. HOWEVER, when it comes to 1st team vs. 1st team, Port Isabel "won" 2 TDs to 1. To clarify, the 2nd TD for Weslaco in the controlled was Weslaco's 2nd team O vs. PI's 2nd team D. And Weslaco's lone TD during the live 1 quarter of play was Weslaco East's 1st team O vs. PI's 2nd team D. The Weslaco East staff were very complimentary of the Tarpons, saying that the team is already very good.

Next up for the Tarpons is a scrimmage against 4A D1 Hidalgo at their place.
