Never thought Alvarez would stay too long. Cuero won't have a problem finding another top notch coach.

I thought Alvarez would have stayed a little longer to be honest. And Cuero was in the state semis this past season too.

IMO, long as they hire a quality coach, the Gobbs should be just fine.

I'm not sure anyone can win at Cove right now...the last guy lasted two years and got out....Alvarez has won everywhere he's been except Cove so wonder if maybe things at Cove just aren't the same

oh i totally agree - i've still got long time cove boosters who are family there - the pot of athletes has just run dry

Cove has decided to split the AD/HFC role and a guy who is a pretty successful HC in Texas currently and an alum of Cove who played for Jack Welch didnt even get a call for an interview...strange to me

i talked to my uncle yesterday - he was a long time quarterback club president and is close friends with welch - said he doesn't know why they haven't hired anyone yet

Regardless, 2 years and done? Cuero deserves better.

Hard to begrudge anyone in any progression for taking a pay raise and being closer to family..Cuero will be fine and have their pick when it comes to the next head coach

Haha Dodge was just a consultant...did the whole thing from a beach in Hawaii...we'll see if the new guy at PNG lives up to the Dodge stamp of approval
