Man that is a solid district with great games every week. Glad they no longer just let one team into the playoffs like they did in my days. To many good teams in that district to leave out of the playoffs .

I think the last time that happened in 4A was 2010 when Gilmer and Carthage were put in the same district..., the original "District of Doom".

Brutal district. I'm still needing one all-district list to compile my top 20 3A DI rankings, but there is a decent shot that Lorena and Franklin could be very high. Academy will be top 10-ish material with what they have coming back. People are expecting Cameron to turn a corner with Rhoades being in his second year back in Cameron. Rockdale should be a lot better. It'll be a rough year for Troy and McGregor. Collectively, Franklin has the best upcoming talent in the district, 7th-varsity.

not really THAT brutal...it's just top heavy...

Two really good teams, 1 pretty good, and four that stink...

Will have 4 teams playing for that last spot which could get interesting.

Don't forget Aledo and Denton Ryan in the same district, too. Just goes to show some very narrow areas of the state are hotbeds for football.

2009 it almost happened Graham and Abilene Wylie were in the same district. Both went to the SC AW 3a Big School. Graham 3a small School (before the change).. BUT we both lost. Gilmer beat AW and Carthage beat Graham in a great hard fought game 12-13..
