Im noticing a pattern with Glen Rose. It seems like every year they coast through the season and barely make the playoffs as the 3rd place team. Then, they kick it into overdrive in the playoffs but always seem to lose a heartbreaker in the final minutes of the bi-district game. Just seems kinda strange to me.

I agree, Glen Rose never can quite get over that hump of the first round. They are very inconsistant in the regular season also.

But it's kinda strange how they never seem to start playing until week 10.

Here's a little bit about Glen Rose, you may not care but you all seem curious. Now these are not excuses mind you, just inner-squad situations like every other team has to find a way to overcome (and that's the soft spot @ GR, no depth). The last 2 years they've lost the starting Center/Def. tackle, '00 vs. Aledo & '01 after LW game. They're offense fell to pieces when they lost that timing. Glen Rose doesn't have the biggest or the strongest by far, but when the timing was right, the line didn't have to block as much as obstruct someone's path for about 1.5 sec.. When the snap is slow and on the ground 75%, it's hard to hold 'em out. But the new center worked hard and got it down, he should be commended. They also changed quarterbacks at Aledo, traded finess for speed, and took away any passing game until he got confident back there. NOW as for they're future::::: With the right alignment next year this should be the team to watch as depth will finally grace them. They will return 16 lettermen (11 Sr.,5 Jr.), 12 of those were starters this year, and 7 more Seniors move up from a very strong JV. They should have a well balanced team (speed, strength, depth) for the first time in recent memory. Also, the freshmen team posted a 9-1 record behind an exceptional trio at QB, HB, & FB. OK, enough already...... the main ingredient for GR is Coach Nelms, I swear this man could get a six-man team pumped up enough to play a 5-A team a good game.

Good post Friday, but consider that the new alignment will probably put Glen Rose, Kennedale, & Hillsboro together. mmmmm..........

Very true, but the same is true for Kennedale they have Sophmore Rex Harper back which was the starting Tailback this year and reached 1,000 yards. The starting Wingback( Chris Morris Soph) Reciever( Jason Tomlison JR) and Tightend (Landon Johnson JR)
A few off the line graduate but hopefully some underclass men will step up. We will lose Garry Petty Fullback but then Brandon Ross (5'10, 200lbs ,4.6 40 yd dash) will hop right in his spot. Kennedale entire Secondary will be back led by Jr. Rocky Smith, and Jason Tomlison. Kennedale will again be very salty next year.

Just make sure you play GR before week 10 and you'll be ok.
