Sin-Town's taking this one!

Good Luck Pirates, if we beat the already State Champs week 2 (if we can get by Wharton, they're looking good right now) then we may meet again...

Thanks Gobbla.
If the Sinton/Carrizo Springs game is gonna be played at Harlandale ISD Memorial Stadium then here is the map.
stadium map (http://www.ypengine.com/yp.cfm?brd=2522&pag=760&screen=&link=ypMapResults&action=ShowMap&streetaddress=4002+Roosevelt&city=san+antonio&state=tx&zip=&x=3&y=16)
It looks like the same place Sinton played a baseball playoff game this past summer. 66 and I couldn't find it at first and we were late to the game.

I hope this didn't catch anyone off guard in the Pirate camp. It seems that Mathis did play a good game but how much of this might have been already preparing for their bi-district game with Hondo(supposedly)? Just wondering.

Sinton's staff has a lot of experience vs. Carrizo Springs. They may have been preparing for Hondo, but my bet is they had somebody watching C.S. last Friday too. May have been the Jr. high coaches, but I'd bet we had someone there. I'd be very surprized if Carrizo Springs is able to beat Sinton.

Just wondering.Mathis was dominated!!When you put 350 yds. against 130 yds.total offense that's called kickin ass!! Mathis had Burnet sized kids but there just wasn't enough of em.Not tryin to be cocky but this game shoulda been 35-7!!

Look at the w-l record. Who have they beaten? No good teams at all. Don't expect a whole lot from Carizzo Springs. This game might not even be close if Sinton gets rolling.

Yep, I was a little worried when I saw they played Laredo (5A) but then looked up their win/loss record & they've only won 2 games!! eek!

I feel ALOT better about playing Carrizo Springs vs. Hondo. If the guys come out and play up to their potential and get any nerves they may have out early they should be just fine. I say Sinton by at least 21.

If any one was at the game Friday you would have noticed that although Sinton trailed most of the game, they never got rattled and finally got in the end zone without the td bein called back.Other than Mathis 20 yd. drive for their only score,Sinton's D allowed Mathis past the 50 only one other time. The result was 129 yds. total offense for Mathis. If Sinton's offense doesn't get a zillion penalties and the defense continues to play well Sinton beats Carrizo by 4 tds.

I was doin checkin and over the last 20 years Sinton has made the play-offs 12 times.Of those 12 Sinton owns 11 bi-district wins.their only bi-district loss was to Cuero in 83.

hey 75, can you do a lil searching on sinton vs. cuero in the playoffs... im a little curious

Old Green and I talked about the Cuero/Sinton matchups, and he told me last year that Sinton has a better record against Cuero than any other south Texas team including Gregory-Portland and Calallen. He's got that info. You might ask him about this.

Good luck Sinton, not that you'll need it. Just watch their quaterback if he gets some room he could take off to the races. But they didn't exactly shine in our district so I don't see you all having any problems. Too bad you're not playing Hondo I was looking foward to that one.

I think Sinton holds a 3-2 edge against Cuero.

I think Sinton will takes this one. I won't get to go on Sat. because I have to work. I haven't missed a playoff game since I started going to Pirate games in '88. It's supposed to rain on sat. so maybe we will get a rain out and then I'll be able to go to the game. Sinton has really come on strong since district started so I hope they will continue to play their game. The defense is playing great, it's the offense that needs to start and finish the game strong. They just need to take care of the football. I predict they will win by 21 or by 28 points.

Sinton 37 to 7.

Offense has been good, they just have to make long drives for tds compare to past couples of years where they could strike quick. Defense has been solid, but needs improvements up the middle or better adjustments and they could make a good run in the playoffs.

Not a close game at all....Carrizo Springs lost to 2a Comfort and will get slaughtered by Sinton.

Don't be surprised if Carrizo Springs puts up a good fight. I'll predict a Sinton win. No line on this one. Don't get me wrong, I have faith in my Pirates but this district(29) played much better than anticipated last year in the first round. Last year, district 30 was stronger I believe. All that matters is that I'll be there rooting for the Pirates Saturday!!!!
Go Pirates!!!!!
Beat Carrizo Springs!!!!!!!!

I'm back. My computer crashed and I relied on kinfolk to fix it. It only took two months. My original prediction looks pretty good - Sinton may go 0-4 and still make the playoffs !

The Pirates will take Carrizo and then La Feria and then Basketball season starts !

maybe if you wouldnt openly post against a team that you say you root for, we could do a little more
we surprised a bunch of ppl this year

Well, I think 'ol 66 is gonna travel to San Antonio this weekend too. Hope to see all of you rabid Sinton fans there to cheer the kids on.
Go Pirates!!!

The Wildcats can win this game if they take care of the football. Most of the games they lost were because they had too many turnovers. There offense was one of the best in the district. Turning the ball over deep in there own territory is what cost them many games this year. San Antonio will be like home field for the CATS. As of late Friday night seems like our district has done pretty well against the competition.
GO CATS GO!

I'll try not to let you down 66. I tried to save some voice from the Mathis game yesterday. There was this lady sitting above me Friday and I KNOW those guys had to hear her on the field. eek! Do I have to cheer from the sideline? LOL
I'll call several times during the game.

No, you can cheer from wherever you please. I'll update the board when you call. Thanks, buddy.
