District 16 4a DII: Rio Hondo at Port Isabel

DCTF line is Port Isabel by 10.

This is usually battle for top spot but Rio Hondo not doing so well this season in district as they sit at 0-3 in district and Port Isabel looking to be in one of the top spots is 2-1 in district and another district win puts them closer to a playoff spot.

Port Isabel hasn't beaten Rio Hondo since 2013, and after taking that huge loss to Sinton last week, the Tarpons will be foaming at the mouth for this one.

Although Rio Hondo is 0-3 in district right now, they've been competitive in 2 of the 3 losses. It'll be a good game, but the Tarpons should come out on top. They're going to want to redeem themselves after getting annihilated last week.

Good win by PI against their arch rivals 27-24. Tarpons keeping pace for high seed and big game up next vs Ingleside. Both 3-1 in district.

It just as easily could have gone the other way. The game was much closer than it should have been. There were a multitude of calls against PI that kept RH drives alive. (several personal fouls, 1 targeting call) Had it not been for a kickoff return by Medina, Rio Hondo possibly wins the game.

Put it this way, if the PI defense doesn't get it's crap together in the discipline department, Ingleside will romp all over PI next week.

The PI/Ingleside game next week most likely determines who gets 3rd & 4th seed unless something monumentally crazy happens in the next few weeks.
