LG beat a good Rockdale team despite digging their way through 6 inches of yellow laundry on the football field all night. If they can rid themselves of all the false starts and holding calls they might win this one as they actually are a somewhat decent crew especially on defense. First games are never pretty and they have had a week to get their act together so we shall see. The Eagles had a tough opponent last week against the highly ranked Texans and lost by 17 which isn't too bad all things considered, so the Leps have their work cut out for them.

31 -14 Fisher Canyon Lake
The Eagles were just too physical as they managed to blow up the Lep offense in the red zone stopping good drives and had no turnovers while they picked off the Leps 4 times and recovered a fumbled KO. The Leps never quit and were in it up until the middle of the 4th but got stopped on a drive inside the 20 and that was it. The Eagles scored the last 43 seconds to make the score 31-14. The Leps travel to La Vernia next week. On the positive side there were hardly any penalties and the defense made several key stops in the second half. This was definitely an improvement over the last week as the Eagles are a very good team and will have a fine year.
