CAMERON) The next head football coach at Cameron Yoe High could be revealed soon.
Cameron ISD Superintendent Kevin Sprinkles told KMIL this morning that he will present his recommendation for the next Yoe High athletic director and head football coach during a meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday night. Sprinkles said the district received 39 applications for the job and conducted interviews with the top 3 choices based on criteria and traits developed by a 10-person committee of district stakeholders. Cameron ISD is seeking to replace outgoing head football coach and athletic director Tommy Brashear, who will not return but remains with the district. Brashear was 41-19 during his 5-year tenure, posting a trio of 11-win seasons. Cameron is one of the winningest programs in state history, has been a state football finalist 6 times, and won state titles 4 times, including 3 straight from 2012-14.
