Celina looking for a game 9/25

Bobcats were scheduled to have a bye this Friday, Sept. 25, and were then going to travel to the Alamodome in San Antonio to face Boerne on Oct. 2 ... but the Bobcats/Greyhounds decided to err on the side of caution and cancel their showdown. Celina just didn't feel comfortable traveling five hours and staying overnight. So Celina will be looking to pick up a game this Friday, 9/25.

I know Matt Stepp mentioned that Connally was NOT looking for a game. Would love to see the Bobcats go against La Vega. Caddo Mills would be an alright matchup, too, and so would Mexia. Just hope the Bobcats get a game!

I just want them to get a game this week or next. Two weeks off is no good. I know Coach Elliot doesn’t want to take that much time off right after it looked like they finally started to put things together against PP.

That’s disappointing. I can understand a little not wanting to play Graham, since those two will probably play in round three. But man, two weeks off is less than ideal. Bobcats must not have been very serious about picking up a game, or they must have had a very short list of desirables they were waiting on.

More and more teams are having to reschedule every week because of the Corona. Odds are good that Celina will find somebody next week that's a good fit and needs a game.

It'd be a long longshot for them to meet in bi-district. Most likely meet in the Region I semifinals.

I hope so. Three open weeks in the regular season is a lot. Bobcats still have a bye the second-to-last week of the regular season. Then it's Sanger, then the postseason.

Saw Stepp tweet that Canton's game with Ferris was cancelled, and the Eagles were looking for a game. That would be a 4A matchup the Bobcats could handle on late notice, I would think. Unless they just wanna bank on something coming up next week.

As a fan, it does seem like "come on, just find a game and play!" Obviously, that's an oversimplification. Glad to have Coach Elliot leading the Bobcats. He's a good one.
