Technically the first week of the regular season this week for Class 4A and lower classifications. Are your teams or teams in your area kicking off on Friday night?

Class 4A: Pearsall will not. The Mavericks opened workouts on Monday, August 24.
Class 3A: Dilley Wolves will take on Sabinal in Dilley. Game will be streamed at https://www.facebook.com/DilleyISD/
Classs 3A: Cotulla Cowboys will not. The Cowboys are remote learning and have not opened workouts yet.

Pearsall was allowed to begin workouts on Aug. 10 for S&C and football workouts this week. The Mavs open with a scrimmage on Sept. 24 against SA Lanier. They open the regular season Oct. 2 against La Vernia.

Celina and Melissa will play at 7:30 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.

The Bobcats are No. 6 preseason in 4A-DII, and Melissa is top 25 (can't remember exact spot) in 4A-DI. Should be a very entertaining game.

La Grange hosts Rockdale tomorrow at 7:30. It should be interesting the Tigers are expected to go far this year. Leps have a lot back from last year's 8-4 team. The entire backfield and a wr TE and 2 on OL so our O should be solid. We'll need to see how the defense matches up to Rockdale's tough offense.
