You hear everyone talking about offence when you cant win without defence so i was wondering who was everyones vote for the best linebackers in 3a. Well this can be for the best defencive players all-around.

Burnet has one a well rounded defence. They have Mark Manning at DE, Thomas Ham DE, 2 sophmores at DT that are doing awesome, Warren Christian at S, Luke Pell and Brain Mock OLB, Ty Kuhn and Ben Rountree ILB, and Cody Warner and Jordan Shipley CB. This defence is stepping it up this year.

LaGrange's linebackers have to be considered!

There's a real mean SOB of a linebacker from Port Isabel with good size, great speed, and tremendous hitting power by the name of Frank Herrera. He's only a sophomore so keep an eye out for him. :D

Jerry Jurach and Kenny Salone of Sinton.

Old Dog:
LaGrange's linebackers have to be considered! The Leps have two very aggressive and hard hitting MLBs: Josh Johnson #22 (who couldn't play until game 4 due to UIL appeals) and Keith Krause #68. They go to the ball quickly and one or both are in on every tackle it seems.

I would have to say Bo Havard from Liberty is one of the best Linebackers in the area. He demolishes all weaklings in his path.

Bo Havard from Liberty is a key part of the Panthers D by crushing all in his path to the ball

Amos Moses

Marlin has two good linebackers
#51 John Sadler 3rd team all-state last year as a soph.
#56 Nate Humphrey Sr. Only thing that hurts him is he plays both sides of the ball.
They sure ain't scared of contact.
Sadler leads the teams in tackles.

I played with Josh Johnson in Burnet last year and he was born to play!! He has a nose for the game. He has speed strength everything...he has to be the best linebacker to ever walk through burnet and certainly the best one in 3a right now!! Does anyone know how he is doing in La Grange right now? Just curious.

Jared Dolan #40 is good and we have a soph, Louis Duncan that will be good! @ BH. #40 will smack you pretty good.

BIG BLUE DEFENSIVE END

I'll have to put my money on #24 Jacob Garza of the Rockdale Tigers.

i will have to go with amos moses's pick, simply because of they only let their opponets score a total of 73 points to 9 teams and the teams include ( burnet, ennis, waco university, midway).. that means the teams only average 8 points a game !!!!!

I have to say the Josh Johnson from La Grange outstanding young man...plays with alot of heart and will knock your head off if it comes down to it...he has a little injury but expect him back for playoffs...he one heck of a young man

Best? Hard to say!
2 awfully good ones though.

Trent Allen, Sr. MLB, Longview Spring Hill
6'2", 215#
near 20 tackles per game.

Seth Brown, Sr. OLB, Longview Spring Hill
6'1", 220#
Trent's films have earned Seth tons of attention.
Opponents rarely run to his side.

Trey Bennet from Newton is much a man! He started last year as a soph. on a salty newton defense. he has to be reguarded as one of the best in 3-A. Good luck in the playoffs Eagles

I have had the pleasure of watching #40 of Barbers Hill for the last few years. He is an outstanding young man who becomes every coaches dream on Friday night. He has played part of this year with pins in his thumb and leads the team in tackles from his linebacker position. Not just any team but the district champs from 22-3A. #40 is a MAN who hits like a sledgehammer. The best linebacker in 22-3A, no doubt!

One player that everyone has failed to mention is Ty Khun of Burnet a Will Linebacker. I mean I have to play against him because im on scout team offense. And people I can take a hit from people on Varsity D but I hate it when he comes in and I have to play against him. I mean you think Josh Johnson hits hard Ty Kuhn will maul you if you play against him. He's even better in games I mean how linebackers you know can just level somebody with just one arm during a game especailly a 200 pound TailBack from well, anywhere I mean he may not have the great stats that the rest of the D has but. Thats because Offenses usually worry about him and try to cut him and do a whole bunch of other dirty tricks. Don't you agree man_of_all_men. I mean I might sound crazy but this guy is just that good.

Cody Romines, Bridgeport Senior
First team All-State as a junior with 228 tackles last year. Having another good year and even playing some at running back in short-yardage situations.

Reminds you of Bill Bates when he comes down the field on kickoffs...possessed!

um...i'm sure that all the teams have a decent linebacker or possibly one of the better linebackers in 3a however if you havn't seen Bo Havard play you don't have any idea what a linebacker is....all others are pitiful in his shadow

I don't know what you have been smoking. He is good but he isn't some kind of super force on defense. He doesn't dominate games. He is nowhere near being the best linebacker in the state.

i'll have to say that the BO-CAMOTIVE (steven havard) jr. #32 for liberty panthers *who was crowned the sophomore of the year, last year in 01'* and MOSS (andrew moss) soph. #20 are the best linebackers in 3a. and *andrew should be looking forward to getting crowned sophomore of the year for 02'* after havin an awesome year.

have to consider Steven Havard and Andrew Moss...they'll both be back next year and hav already made an impact in the district

redneckplayer010
11-14-2002, 10:13 PM
in the district, try the universe... check bo's thread for accounts of his superhuman displays that will easily get him crowned the best linebacker in the universe... but he comes from good stock though, his mother was a professional alligator tamer and his dad was the shredder.. and bo has just come into his own utalizing family traits to DEMOLISH all weaklings in his path

and drew has been set back by playing weakside.. but he still holds his own and was once seen to kill a whole town because some kid dropped a spoon

Garrett Dornon of Bellville is probably the best I've seen in a while. He went down (ACL) early in season, but was bound for A&M. Knowing him, he'll rehab and still keep his end of the bargain at Aggieland. He is some kinda stud.

In his absence, Cole Laughter and Wesley Jones are turning heads. Keep your ears open for these guys if we survive a few rounds

Forney's Jordan Case #8 must be considered. Teams that have played Forney can agree.

I would have to nominate #21 Robert Melich and #45 Charlie Verret frpm Bridge City. They are there making the plays on Defense.
