What happened? Seriously... perennial contender to this?

This is a lamarque type collapse but with no apparent reason?

Navasota was an average program at best before Lee Fedora arrived. They had a great run for about eight years and then when he left it was back to the SOS.

Not close to the Lamarque collapse. Navasota was never close to that kind of power house.

Forgive my lack of pre-fedora knowledge. Right around when he got there was about when I started following HS ball closely... so majority of my memory is navasota being the cream of the crop in our region.

I know Fedora took that program to the next level but jeez, plenty of talent still walking the halls to be much better than they are

We experienced the SMU death penalty without the 2 years inactivity. In other words, they injected us but kept us alive to feel the suffering.

Wasn't there a football coach there in Navasota before Fedora ever got there that had more wins than Fedora?

No, but in the 70s/80s David Bourquin had 72 wins in 10 years.

Is that the only place Fedora has won? He was lucky to get that job. Where is he now?

Fedora is a A&M Consolidated. He has had success at several schools, but his success with the Rattlers is what made his name known.

With 109-30 record at Navasota I wonder what his overall record is as a head coach? Does anyone know?
