Last year we went into this game 2-0 and got blown out 42-14. Hopefully things will be better this year. LV will be big favorites and will be a huge challenge for the Leps. Some observations from an old fan regarding this young LG team:
O Line is young has good size(ave 265 + or - few lbs) and get off the ball quickly. Leps are getting 5-7 yards on 1st downs and allowing very few sacks. This is a really big deal as the rest of the Offense are mostly returning starters.
Speed, both in the secondary and backfield the Leps are faster this year any post Dobbins era team. On defense the front 4 is big and physical (sort of unusual for a Lep DL) which in the past has been smaller and perhaps more quick and agile. I like big guys upfront gives the LBs more time to step up for the stop.
Turnovers: leps have only turned the ball over once in 2 games, an interception by Columbus. Hopefully they can continue to protect the football.
So far I am very pleasantly surprised by this team. By all accounts they are outperforming expectations and go into this game with much to gain and nothing to lose.

Let's hear from some Bear fans. This one may be lower scoring because of La Grange’s power run game. The Bear defense is developing. Their progress will be important to making stops and getting the offense opportunities. I expect this one to be competitive.

Thanks Bearfan. what a game! Everytime the Leps got a score the Bears just kept coming back. It got down to who would have possession last and the fumble recovery with 2:35 in the 4th finally sealed the deal for La Grange. La Vernia has many fine athletes. Your QB was very accurate and his receivers made some spectacular catches. Our kicking game and of course no turnovers was the difference otherwise not much daylight between these two teams. Good luck the rest of the way. Your district is going to be very competitive as is ours but The Bears should be right in there fighting it out for the top.
