Columbus looks very tough this year after beating a preseason ranked Goliad 42-20. Columbus always plays up for this rivalry game so the Leps will need to step it up a couple of notches to get the win. LG by 7.

Going to disagree with your prognostication, Pug. Cardinals beat a very good Goliad team very handily. Look for the Cards to win by 7.

Don’t let that big Columbus win over Goliad fool you. Goliad is not good this year....very overrated. LaGrange wins easily.

This game is hard to predict so early in the season and being a rivalry. I like our chances and we have home field advantage and parents Night so that ought to be worth a point or two.

Going with the Cardinals-Home field advantage won't come into play with the towns so close together

This should be a real hum dinger between these old rivals. I'm sure coach Schobel will have the Cards going at 122% but LG can weather the storm if they don't beat themselves. It's to close to call on Tues. s I'll try again later in the week. ;)

Leopards win

Leopards held on for the win after the Cards mounted a second half comeback but fell short 24-21.
Both teams showed some real athleticism but penalties and turnovers really hurt the Cardinals. Columbus should win their district and go several rounds in the playoffs if they stay healthy and work on turnovers. They had a 102 yard KO return on the opening kickoff! The Leps are off to a good start now 2-0 but will need to step it up several notches if they want to hang with LaVernia next week.
