That's a good find. And if they do up the number of 5A schools to 245 instead of the traditional 210-225, that will mean that some current 4As will bump up......and some current 3As will move up in class to cover the losses of the 4A ranks.

It probably wouldn't be all that many, though since they're aiming for approximately 200 schools from 2A to 4A. I guess the question now is.....which of those current 3A members will be moving up?

Thanks for the link eagle.eyes, while it does'nt provide any thing new it does show what a thankless job the decision makers have.

Good post. Interesting. The article mentions Dairy Queens. Hits home. Newton has a Dairy Queen and none of the others are even in the county. 2A? :D :D :D

Thanks for the link to the article, Eagle.eyes. It will be very interesting to see how it all pans out. I think the changes will be beneficial, from what I read.

The line that caught my attention is the..."In theory, this means the largest school in a conference would generally be no more than twice the size of the smallest school in the conference." 3A seems to be the conference that gets screwed with on this theory. My math tells me that twice the size of 345 is 690 not 900, we have almost a three times the size disparity. Interesting. Guess that word "generally" is the key for 3A.

thats the very problem the UIL is going to try to correct in this upcoming realignment ...

It is too late for this realignment, but I gathered that a 6A conference might be possible in the next one, 06' - 08'. So maybe there is hope after all.

Thanks for finding this article. It was a very good read. I've always thought 3A had the worse diparity between the haves and the have nots.
