We are going to be staying in a Taylor motel in early September to attend a concert show by Sylvia at the Granger Cotton Club which is 15 minutes away.
Are there any good places to stay and places to eat. It's about a 3 hour drive for us from home

The best BBQ in the state is in Central Texas. You could drop by Louie Mueller's in Taylor or make a trip to the "top two" in Brett's in Rockdale or Snow's in Lexington.

I live in Elgin and Taylor has several good hotels to stay . You cannot beat Louie Mueller's BBQ , but you can drive south up Hwy 95 to Copeland and eat at the Copeland Dance Hall . There is also a good place in Taylor called Plowman's Restaurant that is in the old Taylor High School they also have a Bar where they have over 40 different beers on tap.
