I will startout by saying BC 49 Liberty 20-9th grade and then BC20 Liberty 12-JV. A 9th grader, Carl Carlton, a Soccer star, kicked a 25 yard field goal. He can kick off as far as the HS teams. Ninth grade has totally domimated all scrimmage and game play. JV is depleted by 9 Sophomores up on Varsity; yet only LCM has bested them in scrimage and game play....Tell us some details about your building program???

Sounds like BC's looking good...

Our freshmen played Wharton's freshmen and won 38-14 (or something like that)...

I didn't get the score for the JV playing Rice Consolidated but I was told they matched up well with the Raiders but lost due to some special team mistakes... The JV wasn't expected to do too well at all because most of our soph's and juniors are on varsity...

BH freshman beat Anahuac I think in a close game, but their starting running backs and quarterback are on jv. The jv blew out anahuac 46-6 and then all thursday night away games at hampshire fannet were cancelled this last week

The baby Leps are 2-0 against Yoakum and Gonzales. They have some real size and talent, so the future is bright in La Grange. :D

Our guys are also 2-0 against Austin Reagan and Gatesville. The teams look great, and hopefully we will have another strong program next year. Our QB needs some improvement on JV- but it is unfair to compare him to McGee. Players like McGee aren't your average players. I think we'll be alright next season though- just not quite as blessed as we are this year! But these kids and this program never ceases to amaze me.

Sinton's JV is 1-1. Freshman team has yet to lose a game since starting in the 7th grade.

Forney's Freshman aren't very good. They weren't good last year abd alot of them quit this year. But they got to brothers(i think twins) that moved in and they can run all over you.

I know Everman's 9th and JV are both doing well..the 9th grade has dominated in all 3 scrimmages and beat Eastern Hills who by the way had a really good freshman team...the JV is also 1-0..Everman also has a sophmore team which is 2-0 they beat 5A Trinity's sophmore's bad and won last week also...last year Everman didn't lose a subvarsity game in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th or JV...

uh oh now I'm confused Matt..you said JV is 1-0...but they also have a sophmore team that beat Trinity and is 2-0?? Was that a typo ....or do they have 3 subvarsity teams in the HS??? Explain if they have 3 teams...who plays where?????

Matthew328

Right now Everman has 3 subvarsity teams...a Freshman, a sophmore team and a JV...the JV only suited out like 20 guys for the Eastern Hills game..they are mostly juniors who will be on Varsity once district starts...they usually have a sophmore team for a few games then when district starts the sophmore team becomes the JV...this way more kids get to play and get experience..you'd rather have the juniors who won't see much time on Varsity playing some on JV than sitting the bench on varsity..and it works out because they don't take time from the sophmores..

Hey how are the Jr. High teams doing? Better yet how are the pee-wee football teams doing? Gotta find something to talk about.

Dunno about 7th grade but I believe the 8th grade A and B haven't lost a game going all of the way back to 7th grade a and b'ers... That's what I hear anyhoo

The Rice Jv is 2 - 0 record. The JV has only lost 1 game in the past four years at rice. And they only lost by like 2 points when they lost that one game. That was only because the Head coach of varsity moved some of the Jv up to get a feel for the playoffs at varsity level. So im sure if they had all there startes they would have won that one to. =)

Raider4Ever- I just helped you out with a 5 too. I'd appreciate a return favor if you see fit! - I've been on this board for almost a year and have yet to see a 5!

Our 7th and 8th grade teams are doing really well- we have a 7th grader with an arm! He is going to be a great ball player someday!

Forney's 8th grade B team is the best ever. Escpecially Kyle Smith. He is UNSTOPPABLE at TE and will sack your QB everytime whenever he is playing OLB!!!!! :D :D

the junior class at BH hasnt lost since 7th grade but 8th grade was when they put in the new no huddle and new defensive systems so I kind of tend to start counting there...sophomores have some weak spots but some positions are very strong and should help the junior class next year, the freshman class is one of the more athletic classes to come through in a long time however they lost their top 3 athletes in twins that one is a running back/linebacker and one is a running back/safety, also the quarterback has been moved up to jv so as you can imagine the 9th graders are having some trouble adjusting but still play tough

I think there is a three way game in pee-wee this week in Jasper. The kirbyville team has one heck of a middle linebacker the is not afraid to mix it up. I heard that he was on the bottom of a dogpile last weekend. He is like 3'8" 62 lbs.! District 20 better get ready cause in about ten years he will be ready of play varsity. how bout it Old Card!

Well...as I puff up my quills...MY SON!!! is playing in the pee wee league (flag football-he's only 7) this year and even though they haven't taken the field to try out yet- I can assure you he is the best! :D

True story- he played catch in the parking lot last year with a kid while waiting for our game against Sinton to start. My boy couldn't catch the ball at all, and the other kid was getting a little more than irritated with him..."Awww come on man!..." Well, my son went to the annual football camp put on by BCISD coaches this summer. He came home the first day and was screaming..."Mom, I can catch the ball- you gotta have antlers!" He opened up his hands and stuck his thumbs together...cutest thing I ever saw!

They start 'em out young here!

Matt, That Everman concept sounds like the way to go! I just have a feeling that the teams mentioned here will be the better teams for Varsity ball, in years to come. To S-1906, I am a firm believer in Jr Football, having been a Head Coach, in that arena for about 40 games, back in the past. If you have good Coaching by guys that played ball and have good sensitivity toward working with that age group-its the best feeder program an area can have. Glad to hear you have one playing........BobKat: How is OFs JV and 7th-9th graders doing?...... I will be out at the games in BC tonight(Tuesday) watching 7th and 8th graders play, that belong to my church...

Hard to believe but our freshmen team is undefeated. They beat Northside 35-0 and South Hills 35-20. They called back like 2 TDs though.

I am a player on Burnet's JV team and like HotDawg89 already said we are doing quite well. We beat Ausin Raegan 47-0 and Gatesville 19-0. The Freshman team also shut out Austin Raegan 25-0 and they beat Gatesville by aomewhere arounf 33-20. Coach Shipley has really built a strong program here in Burnet and I could not be prouder to be a part of it. GO JV. 06 all the way!!!!

OC, I've heard in coaching circles that the consensus in Region 3 is that the dominating freshmen classes are La Grange, BC, & BH. Looks like there may be some post season wars in a couple years. I know personally the BH freshmen class has never lost a football game, including back to peewee. Freshmen BH game stats a little misleading due to 3 skill position players starting on JV.

OC if you have enough kids to do it the JV and Sophmore team is the way to go...especially since the sophmore team plays only 4A and 5A schools..it gives em lots of good competition

That's interesting Eagle eyes- I had heard it was Jasper and Bridge City....I did watch the BC 8th grade last night and they tied Nederland 14-14; and Nederland Central Canines(JR.HI.)has been touted as the top 8th grade in 4A. It was a good ballgame, I would say that either of those teams would take out your average 9th grade team...Trying to schedule the best 4As is important to expose your 3A kids to a better level of ball as often as you can....
