Wharton County Junior College before a big turnout renamed Pioneer Gym in honor of Athletic Director Gene Bahnsen today in a moving ceremony. Had former players and dignitaries there to speak. He's been there 60 years and is retiring in August at the age of 85.
They had a plaque on the wall with Gene Bahnsen on it and had two others that will be placed in the foyer/
