I've known Gene since 1973 when he taught me a officiating course and we became close aquaitances over the years. He was a great basketball coach during his tenure of the Pioneers. He also coached football and track and was great to interview when I wrote for the Wharton Journal-Spectator from 1985-2010. We go to the same church in Hungerford and stop by his office for visits
