Former yoakum athlete announces that he is transferring from Texas A&M. The expectation is that he’s headed to Austin to play with his brother Josh

And cousin Jordan Whittington. Not a bad threesome for the Horns.

Why? He’s got 5-6 safeties that have multiple years left and just signed two really good ones that won’t have to sit out a year. I say he’ll be a walkon if he comes to Texas.

Ranking 114th in pass defense, not sure those other 5-6 safties with multiple years left, was Tom's answer either.

It’s not dumb thinking. I’m talking about from JM’s side, he’ll have to sit for 2 maybe 3 years before he sees the field.

He started two freshmen in a league where they throw the ball a lot. I can promise, Moore wouldn’t have fared any better much less even made the two deep. He couldn’t even play on the Aggies defense and they needed tons of help in the passing game too

Sterns was maybe the best Texas freshman ever. Foster and Jones are both better than Moore.

I've seen Jordan do a combine workout and he is a good athlete, but he is not at the same elite level as those other guys (or josh). I agree with who ever said he would be a walk on at Texas.

Houston makes much more sence.
Good luck to him. He was great fun in to watch in all sports to watch in all sports when he went up against Navarro.

Wow. Really?

"Looking at the other 28 players who also started right away for the Longhorns, Sterns is the only one to earn either a first-team All-Big 12 or All-Southwest Conference nod as a freshman."

"Benson, McCoy and Johnson are the measuring sticks for freshmen at their respective positions. The same can be said for Sterns since he’s put together a debut that stacks up favorably with any freshman to ever suit up for the Longhorns."

I can live wit the 'maybe'. I think Benson & McCoy had much bigger impacts due to the position they played.

Cant argue that. Hard to make a huge impact as a DB.

Earl Thomas started as a redshirt freshman and was extremely successful that year.

Good luck to Jordan. houston probably gives him a much better shot to start.

A&M already has returning starters Charles Oliver and Debione Renfro, freshman standout safety Leon O’Neil, and just brought in 4 top DB recruits this year.
