Sweeny has the great defense and better record. WOS has played the far tougher schedule.

This is going to be a great game. Both teams are capable of putting up big numbers on offense. Sweeney's defense is formidable with a huge D line (#70 and 71) which will make it hard to run right at them. The Bulldog Qb has a strong arm, is accurate and can run well out of the pocket. Their running backs #34 and #9 can really scoot too. I haven;t seen WOS so I just have to go with the record which for the Mustangs is not a typical Mustang dominant one. So I'll take Sweeney by 7.

Yeah we had a tough pre district schedule with this young team.Made a ton of mistakes and what not but were really in all those losses.Seemed to have right the ship at this point where we can contend.We ain't world beaters but I think we have just as good of a chance to get out of region 3 as anyone.Well see.

Finally these two great programs get to meet. Glad I get to see it before I move. We will need to play our A game for all 4 QTRS and not make stupid penalties. We were fortunate last week vs. La Grange due to those mistakes. This has to be the best Area Round game in the state right?

Picking WOS, but pulling for Sweeney. Never good for Jasper to play WOS twice in the same year! (Of course, that is assuming that Jasper gets by Bellville.)
Besides, a Jasper Sweeny game most likely would be in Conroe or Houston area! lol

I will say this Jasper, WOS, Sweeny and Giddings in no particular order one of these 4 WILL win Region 3 this season.
I wouldnt count Silsbee out of that mix, either. They are capable.

Playing LG close last week should help Sweeny prepare for another close contest Friday.
This young WOS team has matured throughout their season because of their SOS.
It really could be a Pick'em in this contest.

Yeah, they played you pretty close as I remember. It is playoff time. Strange stuff happens. Sometimes you have unheralded teams with 3 or 4 losses going deep into the playoffs. Clearly Silsbee has some talent.
Really, Silsbee is loaded with size and speed. This Region 3 will go to whomever catches fire in these first couple rounds. This weeks games are going to tell us about who is rising to the occasion. There wont be any 2nd round gimme's this year... i think the only clear cut advantage is the Jasper/Bellville game. Jasper has earned that one. Even the Giddings game wont be easy. They better not sleep on Liberty.

So, who is likely to come out of region 1 or 2? I saw where PG won in rd 1, so i guess they are a factor. Any teams looking dominant? I havent been paying much attention.

Of course you haven't. I'm pretty sure Cuero can handle anyone from 1 or 2

Good points. I can easily see three teams from WOS, Silsbee, and Liberty still playing next week. And if that is the case, what a commendation that will be for that district and Southeast Texas football. Add in Jasper and that would be a serious statement. I first hand saw how competitive WOS can be, and judging from the scores I have seen Silsbee and Liberty are not far behind.

Looks like it's being live streamed on NFHS Network. I paid my monthly of 9 bucks last week to watch the Goliad/Hitchcock game, so I'll tune into this one today.

Sweeny is winning in the trenches.
We're seeing 2 different games... sweeny might have 60 yards offense. Thats not "winning in the trenches". They've had to throw the ball because they cant run. That comment is funny.

1st half is history.....new game starts with the 2nd half kickoff. Still undecided and still tied at 0-0. Stark has more athletic types for sure that can break one on any given play. Sweeny has a good defense, but their offense hasn't shown much yet.
Exactly, which is why they are not controlling the LOS, lol. Im not saying that the WOS offense doesnt look like a circus at times... this is why Sweeny isnt down by 14.

Sweeny on a drive here early in the 2nd half have moved the ball past midfield, but was thrown for a loss on 3rd and 1. Now Sweeny forced to punt at 4th and 5, but it's a fake and Jamison runs it for a first down to the 36 yd line for Sweeny.

Now a kickoff return for WO-S all the way for a TD.....but they are calling it back now for an illegal block in the back. It negates the TD and brings it back all the way back to the Stark 35.

With the big skill position advantage Stark had,it's a good thing Sweeny won in the trenches the first half. It would have been 21-0 at the half if they hadn't. Pretty obvious after they got worn down.

It was a great game SHSBulldog00! Scary up until the last 4 minutes. Happy to put such an historic program as Sweeny on our list of opponents played win or lose.

You're right they should of had.... but even with superior skill position players they didn't. But then I guess WOS was so busy winning in the trenches they just forgot. lol Yea, that has to be it.
