Pregame Meals!

What do u guys chow down on before a big game...this goes for both past and present players.

Our coaches would take down our orders and get us some burgers and fries from a locally owned burger joint...

Every now and then I'd place an order with one of my buddies and his mom would pick us up some Sonic...

A nasty A$$ sandwich with nothing but meat (ham or turkey) and cheese. Oh yeah we do have one mayonase packet.
Then theres the bag of lays chips with the little debbie snack (usually oatmeal creampie but zebra cakes if were lucky)for dessert. The coaches don't want us to eat something bad before the game just to have something in there to play on. :( :( frown

Seems like I remember the greasy ol' hamburger and fries before the game. Nothing like it to stir up the butterflies before a big game. Had to think about that one, since it has been a few years back.

Where exactly is Prause's? I've heard of it, but every time I've gone through LG I never see it...

They have jerkey and stuff, right?

..nothing like a piece of jerky on a string to chew on...the hotter the better!!Yummmmmmm!!

Before the game we would go down to Adam's Parlor and order hot sandwiches. I would always get a Rebuben, (with the swirled bread), fries, and big DP with the little crushed up ice...

...then, take it back to the locker room. Lights out, TV on, NFL tapes running till 6:00 that night...

right after the pep rally or if we were leaving for an out of town game... load the bus in shirt and tie mind you... head to Butter Churn or BackStreet Cafe... then after that... head to the locker room.... relax til time to get dressed

The only good thing about the long trips to Brownwood and Stephenville were

Before home games usually either a cheerleader's mom or one of the player's mom would make a whole bunch of spaghetti for the team. Before away games the school only bought food for us a couple of times so most of the time it was DQ.

Coming from the west it is on the right just past the first light!!!

SUBWAY. That was the place. Our coaches wouldn't let us eat 2 hours before the game. So we had to rush over, eat then head to the locker room.
