The Hawks come to Wimberley for this crosstown rivalry match-up and of course "The Battle of the Backbone." Texans reeling a bit from a humbling loss to what looks to be a very talented Giddings team. Canyon Lake is undefeated @ 2-0. Lots of smack talk and hard hitting in this one. Hawks have a solid ball club but I say the Texans bounce back in a big way and win it by 10.

Hawks go in with momentum and will be tough to beat but the Texans may surprise folks. It should be an exciting game
Hawks by a smidgen.

Hawks are much better than a young Wimberley team, Canyon Lake by 3 TDs.

It looks like the Hawks have only allowed 3 points this year to Weiss, having blanked Marble Falls.

I don't know if Weiss or MF have very good teams or not, but it seems the Hawk's D is decent.

OTOH, Wimberley might "wake" up and cruise.

I say it's a coin flip IMO.

We have new stadium lights! That should be an advantage, right?

No, but the referee fund will.

Do they not turn on all the lights until kickoff ? Play day games - play all away games - there to watch the game or the stars ? Dark - Sky community !!! Will they turn off the lights at half time ?

I know from looking at the stats it appears to be the same porous defense but the Texans looked much improved. Many stops for losses or no gains and a sack or 2 against a good ball club. Offense had way too many drive killing penalties and throw in a couple of turnovers to boot. One make-able field goal off the upright. They were in this game till mid 4th. For now there is a knack for giving up the big play. Still a loss is a loss. No excuses. What the heck happened to our home grown refs? Did the threat of rain keep them away? lol

I kind of knew they'd struggle the first few games, lots of fundamentals/mistakes to clean up. After watching the La Vernia scrimmage my thought was then they would be 2-3 pre-district. There's periods where they look unbeatable, then give up a "big" play followed by sputtering offense with penalties. Agree, there is improvement.
