You folks, may want to look at the record between Wimberley and Giddings over the past 15 years or so. Wimberley has not faired too well.

Giddings wins another close one at home. We will continue to make positive gains in these early weeks with our new program.

Yet the score nor your win get close to changing the one-sidedness in the win/loss stat between these two teams.

Don't get me wrong here, I believe this will be a really good game. You guys will be another test to see how our guys are progressing.

My point being these kids playing now most likely have no idea of the past records (until now), nor do they care...well maybe last year. Not even the fact that the 2 undefeated Wimberley SC championship runs of 05 and 11, Giddings was not even on the schedule. It matters nothing now.

He honestly looked slow, but that was kind of hard to evaluate because he was always carrying a defender...

I've seen these kids play....they're very good. Wimbo's varsity will be good this year and better next year.

Very nice win Giddings. Let me emphasize, a very nice win. All I can say is we are being very cautious early on bringing up key people. It's all about how it ends. Best of luck the rest of the way.

I think that's our biggest loss since those beatings Cuero put on us when we moved up to 3A in the late 90's.

A friend at church told me that we had enough big kids this year to fill out both O and D lines, and that there wouldn't be too much playing both ways. (For linemen anyway). He was right! If it were up to me, the Buff's linemen on both sides would be sharing the game ball. They controlled the game. This was my first chance to watch them this year and I am impressed.

Talking to another friend at last night's game, he told me about the game against Rockdale, and that they just kept shooting themselves in the foot with mistakes, fumbles and penalties. Not sure what the coaches focused on this past week, but it worked.

This game was a game of many big plays. Wimbo could have scored more, but for some dropped passes and errant passes. They will be fine in district.

Giddings plays Taylor (in Taylor) next.

The big thing is how/what the coach practiced them and told them between Rockdale and you guys. Everyone agreed it looks like they "gelled" into a team in one week. I hope they can keep improving.

If I'm not mistaken these are basically the same guys from last year, would that be right 1st? Whole different mindset. The Texans still have a ways to go but we will get there.

I only know 1 kid on the o line well enough to yak about. I'm going to guess he's 6'2" and roughly 260-275. He's not even a senior yet, and he has been on varsity basketball because he's very mobile and athletically inclined. I've watched him play 1 on 1 with a smaller guy and he can dominate dribbling and keeping the ball away...so I'm trying to say he's not just a big "oaf". LOL. He could potentially play college ball IMO. We will see.
