Tom Herman and his staff does NOT look very good right now.....if you ask me. They either did not recruit the O-Line well, or have not done their jobs in getting their team ready.......one or the other. I'm not impressed, to say the very least. I'm sure there are many UTers today wondering what's going on with their beloved Football Program......and I can't blame them. Maybe Todd Dodge or Brad McCoy should have been considered......at least they have a winning resume in Texas high school programs and could assess the talent better.....and maybe even get a better group of recruits. Something is wrong......it doesn't take a PHD in athletics to figure that out.

The o-line issues are expected and will continue. Poor o-line recruiting in a very unbalanced, albeit highly ranked, class again this past year. More to come.

Terps screw up big time before leading to 8 Texas points

Texas scores in the 2nd half to take the lead after being down 17 earlier

Maryland retakes the lead... and we’ve got a big call coming here on a possible fumble by Texas....

Goes in Maryland’s favor which appears to be the correct call

Ehlinger does it again, throws a pair of late game INTs to seal the longhorn loss. Texas justifies their preseason ranking once again...

Maybe next year

OC did not utilize his weapons or offensive scheme to his greatest advantage. O-line sucks a wet noodle, and overall a very poor effort with very little team chemistry. This is a recipe that equates to a loss......so they lost.....Football 101.

Tom Herman is 7-7 as head coach of the Texas Longhorns with wins over the following:

San Jose state
Iowa state
Kansas state
Baylor
Kansas
West Virginia
Missouri

They are usually in positions to win. Ehlinger just continues to make terrible mistakes at the worst time.
USC, okie state, Tech, and now Maryland. I wouldn't say Texas' season is over yet, they did improve last year as the season progressed, but if they're gonna turn it around they'll need Sam to stop making boneheaded plays.

Now tbf to ehlinger, the oline and runningbacks, need to step it up as well.

Texas has not won it all since it had an African-American QB. For some reason, there is hesitancy to go with one nowadays on the Forty Acres.

I think Vince Young, whom Mack Brown reluctantly agreed to start when he finally realized it was the only way he could win it all, proves my point.

Well this thread has taken an interesting turn lol

I’m no Longhorn QB expert, but heard and Swoopes both got shots recently? I’m sure there are others

And Colt McCoy was black?

Tyrone and Jerrod Heard are white?

When did Colt McCoy win a national championship?

Forgot about Swoopes. Heard didn't get much of a shot, as I recall.

Oh well. Disney still owes Texas 13 more years of payments on its network contract.

I now see why I forgot about Swoopes. He would never have been starter but for David Ash's head injuries.

Swoopes never should have even been recruited as a QB. He's now a TE.

Jerrod Heard was the top dual threat Quarterback coming out of high school, move him back under center

In the last 4 seasons as head coach of Kansas, David Beaty has a record of 3-34, with only 1 of those wins coming against an FBS school. That 1 win? The Texas Longhorns

Okay......here's how bad it really is. When my brother starts saying Mack Brown wasn't so bad afterall......now we know it's really, really bad, LOL. I'm not denigrating Mack Brown.......just that my brother was never too keen on him. So when he says that, it means things are really, really bad for UT.

Actually I think they won three in a row in 2014. Got them bowl eligible. Herman quoted that 2013 stat wrong in PC today. I also think he was wrong with the Of Mice or Men analogy- been thirty years since I read it but I don't remember Lenny killing a rabbit. He is Mensa though so maybe there is hidden meaning in comparing his team to Lenny...Idk

If I remember correctly Colt should've been to two national titles, and got hurt when moving the ball in the one he played in.

Also, Tyrone and Jerrod both played back and forth for 1 season after Ash hung up his helmet. Buechele shined early on in the next season and the move for Jerrod made sense. Especially since at the start of that season, Tyrod seemed like a capable backup.

It’s entirely possible that Texas starts 1-5, probably 2-4, 3-3 at best this season... and that’s being generous

It's one game at the beginning of the season. Outside of Will Grier, the Texas QBs, and maybe Kyler Murray, the QBs on Texas' schedule have yet to be tested. I wouldn't go and say Texas gets a winning record over the next few weeks, but crazier things have happened in the world of college football.

Eh, I don’t really care what did or didn’t happen prior to me going off to college in 2009.

Of course I know history isn’t on a&m’s side, but 2018+ should make up for it in due time

Lol...so you're saying Charlie Strong was part of this elaborate plan to keep black QB's from playing at Texas?

I'm an Aggie and even I'll acknowledge that you've lost your mind.
