FREEPORT — Four unearned runs off of three Brazosport errors in the first inning proved to be too much for the Ships to overcome as Bellville rolled to a 6-2 win in Game 1 of the Class 4A Region IV bidistrict best-of-three series Friday.
Brazosport starter Tanner Quick gave up two hits in the first, and the three errors behind him, combined to put him in a hole early on.
