what kinda lineman would you rather have on your team...the huge slow ones or the small fast ones...

As the late, great Bear Bryant once said, "Big fast guys will beat small fast guys everytime". But if I have to choose, I think I'll take the small fast linemen.

I don't care what size they are as long as they are smart, go all out all the time, and do what I tell them, when I tell them, the first time I tell them.

Personally, I'd like to have both. Small, fast SMART linemen for day-to-day stuff, and big, SMART linemen for red zone work. I love seeing the big guys go out for those close-to-the-end zone plays.

Big, Smart, and Quick off the ball lineman.

being a tight end from a small line... i think that your lineman should dictate your offense... our line is quick off the ball so we are a run-option offense... but the big guys are better suited probably for a passing offense

i would have to go with the slow and fat ones. simply b/c there would be a disadvantage on pass protection and the run, especially if they have little lineman on the defensive line.

i think a line has to have at least one monster on it so that they don't get pushed around too much, but three four small guys would do just fine if you ask me.

Big, smart, and fast are wonderful lineman qualities, but HEART is where it's at! Anyone who has watched more than one game of high school football can attest to it. I love to see a little buzz-saw embarass some big ole highly recruited stud. That's part of what makes high school ball so great! I really like to see offensive linemen pretty large with quick feet.

I'd like to have two big fast lineman at my tackles and then small guys no smaller than 220 at my guards and center. However, optimally I would want 5 guys who were 6'6" 300 lbs who could run a 4.2 forty, and score a 1500 on the SAT, all while benching 500 and squatting 800. They might be able to get the job done.

wouldn't you rather wnat your biggest guy in the middle i believe the center is the anchor of the line. then i would put my two strongest linemen at guards, and my fastest/best downfield blockers at tackles

Personally i think that the center should be one of the quicker, smaller types of linemen since they usually end up blocking on linebackers unless its a 50 defense, but even in that case, noseguards are generally small and quick also.
