In a unanimous vote, the Palacios Independent
School District Trustees approved the hiring of Na-
talia ISD Athletic Director and Mustang’s head
football coach Chad Graves to the same position of
the hometown Palacios Sharks and PISD Athletic
Director.
At last Friday’s Special Called Meeting with
Graves and his wife, Leah, in attendance the PISD
Trustees convened behind closed doors no more than
20 minutes before returning to open session with
the motion and subsequent unanimous vote to hire
Graves.
“I can’t tell you how excited we are to be a part
of the Shark family,” Graves told the Beacon. “I am
very grateful to be given the opportunity to lead this
athletic program. I have followed the Sharks and
Sharkettes for the past two years
