Why not make it a flat $155,000?

Who's getting the better deal?

Answer: Depends on if your paying or getting paid!

Surely Surratt has had opportunities to move up to college and said no thanks?

There are only a few high school coaches who make it big in the college ranks after waiting until their late 40s to move up. Jeff Traylor is trying to be the next Art Briles (without the scandalous end, of course), but he's already had to move three times since 2015.

Scott Surratt will probably go down in history as another Texas high school coaching legend mentioned in the same sentence with Gordon Wood and G.A. Moore. With Traylor, it remains to be seen. All we know for sure is he is already "making bank" to an extent he'd never have been able to in Gilmer.

no offense to anyone, but Alabama probably makes more from their program towards paying the 11 mill than carthage does towards paying the 154,000. But it is all relative, so keep winning, and I am sure that big 154,000 salary looks just fine. He is doing a great job.

Really?

But Surratt is the Athletic Director also Carthage only has to pay one salary.

Dang! From the title I thought this was one of those threads that was asking who would you want coaching your team in a championship game.

Oh, well..., give me Surratt any day. :D
