I'm surprised Stephenville hasn't started a thread so let me be the first to say congrats to the Jackets for representing West Texas football in class 4A.
You will be playing the Oakland Raiders of Region II. The refs will need to wrap the yellow flags real good in this coming game so they don't unravel from being pulled out so often.
If you saw the Kaufman game, you know what I mean.

Kennedale ISD is letting out the entire district on Friday at 11:00 in order to comfortably get to the 5 o'clock game on time.
Should be a big crowd coming. I've been somewhat disappointed with the Kennedale crowds so far during the playoffs.
Maybe the students will come in droves for this one. The metromess has way too many distractions for the football team to be a central
part of the town's heartbeat. Kennedale will get a lot of press and hopefully bring the town together to cheer for it's team.
The one big thing I like about Kennedale is Coach Barrett who has been here for 23 years and has seen it all. All his experience will come together
with a pretty talented team and he will push all the right buttons.

Not many teams left to talk about, so I say take some well deserved time off, enjoy the holiday season and share those great football moments with your friends.

Stephenville is west Texas like La Vega is in south Texas.

Stephenville is west Texas like La Vega is in south Texas.yup.
At a minimum "West Texas" starts west of Abilene but even that's pushing it.

Any school that has never NOT been in Region 1 is my definition of West Texas

Your absolutely correct Jason, Ville is not West Texas. I would say Abilene is the furthest Eastern point, just my opinion after living out there 44 years.

There is a billboard on the east side of Ranger, Texas on I-20 that proclaims it as the gate way to West Texas.

Ranger is where West TX starts and Stephenville is east of that...

I was worried about Kennedale's crowd but they had a good turnout...much bigger crowd than they usually bring...I imagine next week it'll be much larger...

Fort Worth has the title
"Where the West begins".
