No idea... all I know is there are NO small 5A schools in our area. Whichever direction we land the drives will be RIDICULOUS. Lubbock area, Ft Worth, God forbid El Paso--all 150+ miles each way. :ack!:

And it doesn't get much better in everything else either. There are no real 5As around Wylie for Volleyball/Basketball/academics...etc.

Back in the day, the old District 4-3A Brownwood was in included 2 Witchita Falls school, Iowa Park, Burkburnet, Vernon, Graham, and Stephenville. We put many miles on for football, plus back then we got to travel a lot in the playoffs, lol.

My best guess, would be with Lubbock Cooper, Plainview, Canyon and maybe the two Wichita Falls teams to make a 6 team district 3-5A?

Canyon moved back down to 4A with 1128. They will be a force in basketball and volleyball on the girls side for sure......don't know much about the boys side.

I meant Canyon Randall, regardless plenty of driving for football and other sports as well. At least Abilene Cooper will be close for everything else.

12 El Paso schools are 5A-II, This will be 2 of the districts in Region I, 8 Ft Worth schools will make a 3rd district. Aledo could go with either FW schools or the 8 schools remaining for a 4th district. They are :

Canyon Randall
Plainview
Lubbock Cooper
Denison
Denton Braswell
Wichita Falls
Wichita Falls Rider
Abilene Wylie

Think I got all of them. This could make up Region I (4 Districts)

Carthage is one of the smallest 4A Div. 1 schools. Size dosen't always matter.

Those schools are in the present district 9. Looks like Crowley and Grandbury went 5A-1. The other 6 will e 5A-2. That would fit for Aledo.

I haven't looked at the enrollment numbers to see if they will be 5A-1 or 5A-2 but there are several 5A schools in west Tarrant County, Brewer, Saginaw schools, Azle, and Justin-Northwest districts.
