From what I saw against Wimberley...

Navarro is good, but not like they were in the past two years.

Their offense is not fun to play against, as usual. They can control the clock. QB is a stud, and he needs to be the focal part of the offense this week for them to have a chance at winning.

But their pass defense is really bad. It's so bad that I'm not sure if their run defense is any good or not.

It would be a big upset if Navarro wins.

We just hope Cuero keeps pooching it to the short fast guy again this year! Lol

Fortunately, Cuero's passing game isn't close to Wimberley's. Big upset is a stretch. If we went for it on 4th and 3 in the first, we'd still be playing the Wimberley game.

Panthers have a ball control type offense, Cuero literally won't have enough time/possessions to put up that kind of number. Ha, their offense can burn down an entire quarter. The Gobblers might get 43 using an very effective passing game.

I'm not so much knocking Cuero's passing game. Wimberley's passing game is just on a different level than any team in 4A-DII in my opinion. A big QB with an accurate gun and 4 speedy receivers with good hands. Very hard to defend. But Cuero has a more diverse attack of course. I was responding to a comment about how poorly the Navarro D handled Wimberley's passing game. And, we really stunk it up that's for sure.

I have to say this is the most balanced Gobbler team I have ever seen and not just saying this because my son is on the team. I truly believe we also have enough good depth that our 2nd string could have gone 2 or maybe even 3 rounds deep in the playoffs.

A few questions for you. (1) Do you think Wimberley can score 28 on Cuero? (Ans.: Of course, you do. I'm sure you think Wimberley can score 35 on Cuero.) (2) Is Wimberley's defense better this year than last year? That one I don't know the answer to. (3) Can basically the same Cuero offense but without Tre Miles score 28 on Wimberley this year? (They scored 28 on you last year.) Be honest. Maybe. Even if they do, it's still Wimbo 35 Cuero 28. And, I like the Panthers chances against the Gobs.

I love how the Wimberley folks just automatically assume they're gonna be playing next week. They very well may be....but there's a little team down near the coast they have to get thru first.

No sarcasm. Honest question. Sweeny was very good last year. I saw them in person. I don't know anything about them this year. I can't follow everybody. To paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld, "Sweeny is a known unknown."

If Rio can put 44 on them, Cuero's 63 very likely.Rio qb might not have the height or throw it as hard as the Wimberley qb but he can get to wr or can run with it so not suprise they put up 44, but as a team they don't compare to Cuero size or speed and Cuero been averaging 60+ and it won't change this week. They use 3 atleast at qb but mostly blue42 son as the passing qb. Sweeny does almost the same as Cuero, they'll put their main back in wildcat and he almost as dangerous as Whittington maybe the same speed and quickness.

True, Marion putting up 35 might be a better reference.:taunt:

This isn't the Navarro we've known past few years. And, Cuero is freaking good. Friday will determine who will face WOS from R4. Though, WOS 17-7 over Mexia concerns me. Madionsville might have a say.

I'm not making any predictions as far as our game either. I do think that Wimberley is the team to beat in Region 4 this year but only slightly ahead of Cuero, Sweeny or Navarro. And, I base that totally on the fact that Wimberley is loaded with experienced and very hungry seniors and their QB is playing at a very high level right now. But, I don't think there is a dominant team in 4A-DII the way West Orange-Stark was last two years. So it makes for a very exciting playoffs. This is my last go round. My son is a senior so I want to enjoy it. I'm not here to get under anyone's skin.
