Lots of folks will likely say the Hornets have played weak teams, but Madisonville and Hearne have potential this season with some offensive speed yet Caldwell contained them with back to back shutouts and Smithville could be a third straight unless the subs are put in after intermission.

While the offense still needs to finish the job on scoring threats with more consistent passing (what's with the back-up soph QB being put in half the night despite tripping himself and getting sacked a few times), the defense may have to carry the team.

Looks like the FG kicker should being get paid some overtime.

Friday vs. Smithville may be the Hornets' best chance to score more than three TD's this season. Flea flickers anyone?

Madisonville scored 14 vs. a strong Palestine team sporting the top QB in the nation and lost by 17 after losing to Caldwell, 15-0. Hearne scored 29 on a solid Thorndale team before shelling Grandview (admittedly a weaker team) by a 40-9 count last week.

Great job, Caldwell Swarm defense....

Caldwell's Defense has definitely won the last 2 games. I can't recall Caldwell ever having that much Speed. Caldwell's Defense matched Hearne step for step maybe a step faster. As for the Offence the QB change was needed to try to jumpstart a stagnant Offence. The Offence moves the ball when they go away form the one back set. With the personal that Caldwell has they need to play smash mouth football & rotate the backs # 6,15,32 all need to spend time in the backfield. Good luck Friday

I agree. It makes you wonder what those lighting defensive players who blitz the QB could do with a little more clever trickery on offense with a slightly adjusted strategy. Not to knock the QB, but if our passing was to become more consistent, watch out.... Giddings and Lorena are going to be darkhorses this season. Hope the team does its homework to prep for those big games at the Bee Hive.

I agree. We need to keep our head on staright and get ready for out BIG games. I am pretty good friends with # 15 (Richard Ray), hes a good kid that loves to play and he always has his head in the game. Travis is doing good this year, from what I can see in school hes not getting as big of head as he did last year! Cant wait to see what kinda stuff we pull on Smithville. GO SWARM!!!

P.S. Our freshman in band loved the Police escort, they were all tripin( we were hyper as hell last night after the game) but they thought it was really funny!

I think they play not to lose instead of playing for the Win. Maybe the Offence will come around be for to long.
