I just don't get it......I don't see how such a talented and heavily-armed senior team like the Sanger Indians can have 4 losses this season with the schedule they've played. They have either won by 4 TD's or more, or lost by 4 TDS or more except in 2 close games. They lost to 5A Denton High 28-21 and beat Bridgeport 37-35......every other game was blowout win or loss. They are like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this year......you just don't know which team will show up from one week to the next. You certainly cannot afford to take this team lightly just because their record shows 4 losses......that would be a big mistake, IMO.

The Sanger Indians have some very good skill players to defend against......all seasoned seniors with good numbers!! QB Cincere(C.J.) Jackson(5-10, 165 senior) is their 3-yr. starter at this position.....he has speed, moves, an accurate, strong arm and knows the offense like a coach on the field. He's a big part of their running game at qb.....rushing for 432 yds on 94 carries so far this season. He's thrown for 771 yds in 7 games.....not bad considering this team has two backs with more rushing yards than CJ. Gavin Brown(5-9, 185 senior) is listed as a WR, but he's one of their main rb's in their offensive scheme. Brown has been a main cog for them for 3 seasons also......rushing for 500 yds on 103 carries in 7 games this year. He's also caught 13 passes for 120 yds. Their last piece of the 3-part senior puzzle is RB Dameon Moser(5-11, 170), a 3-yr starter also. This guy has rushed for 459 yds on 57 carries in 7 games this season, and caught 15 passes for 152 yds. As a team, they have rushed for 1659 yds and passed for 801 yds this season.....averaging 237 yds/gm rushing and 114 yds/game passing. It appears they gain twice as many yds running it as they do passing it.....total carries 294 and total attempts passing 128. Maybe they need more attempts passing the ball. Maybe defenses are loading up the box to stop their heavy running game, Huh? It's difficult to say because they either lose by alot or win by alot.

Jackson has thrown 6 interceptions in 7 games, and the Indians have only given up the ball on 2 fumbles this season. They have 6 interceptions and 3 fumbles recovered......so they are +1 in the turnovers dept.......so that's not been an issue for them. The Indians just don't have a signature win this season......they lost big to Hirschi(49-21), but so did Decatur. They pounded Burkburnett last week(49-21)......but Burk is (1-6, 0-2) this season.

Just looking at these numbers.....it looks to me like Argyle can scheme defensively to stop the Indians running attack and not be too overly concerned about a prolific passing attack from the Indians this week. Overall.....with the talent and senior lines the Indians have.....and they do have some big boys on the lines.....they are just not very balanced in their offensive attack this year. I think this is one of the reasons they win the games they should big......and lose the games big they should play closer and possibly win some of those. They have an experienced group of players this year and were ranked to do well this season......that hasn't happened so far, but the season is not over yet. I look for them to be (3-5, 1-2) next week after Friday's game with Argyle.

The weather this Friday night in North Texas is supposed to be very chilly......especially up there near the border in Sanger. So dress warm and be prepared for some football weather......clear and cold. I'm not sure what the forecast for Central and East Texas is......South Texas should just be a welcomed cool front.

Argyle +35 by the half. Yes Sanger has some talented young men on their team and senior strong. But....... they don't have the defense to shutdown or even slow down a power offense. They do have some big ole boys on the lines, but they get tired real fast. Definitely not the same team from last year, and this game won't be close.

I think this is a very dangerous game for Argyle tonite.......there is a rivalry in all sports with Sanger. Sanger has basically underachieved this year compared to last season when the score in Argyle was a nailbiter.....27-21. You have the same characters at the skill positions this season one year more experienced......Jackson, Moser, and Brown. Sanger threw more last year, and Jackson is fully capable of running and guiding their offense. This year the game is a home game for the Indians......it will be cold and Sanger likes to run it. Not only do they like to run it.....but they run it very effectively. All three backs have very good breakaway speed once they are in the open field. I would call this a very dangerous game for the Argyle Eagles against our rival in all sports......the Sanger Indians. I will predict a score of 42-28.....hopefully. GO EAGLES!!! BTW......I hope their defense is the weak link, because I know their offense should be good enough to score on Argyle. Sanger will be pumped up to beat Argyle in this one.....they just love beating Argyle in anything.....that's how it is.

On a side note......GO ASTROS!!!:2thumbsup

Williams runs right for 13 yds down to the 13 yd line.....the Eagles are controlling the LOS and the ball, despite the holding penalties.

Now the snap goes thru the hands of Gonzales as he hustles back, scoops it up and runs it for a one yard gain. It was a 15 yd run, LOL.

A gain of 6 now for Williams with a big hole created by Preston Coyle. 3rd and one now. Williams down to the 3 yd line for a first down.

Don Williams walks into the endzone untouched over Bryson Hutchins on the edge for an Argyle TD. The point is good. Williams slaps the hand of all of his offensive linemen after the score.

Only 1:48 left now......Moser receives it and returns it to the 29. 1st and 10 for Sanger.

Logan Walker in at quarterback for Sanger......he picks up 7 yds. He was the guy that ran the fake punt for a first down. Cole Mathis runs for 8 for a first down and brought down by Scotty Dunham. 2nd teamers in now for Argyle on D.

Sanger lets the clock run out and that's the ballgame. Argyle remains undefeated, but not without playing against a very tough and pretty darn good Sanger team.

Copeland had 224 yds passing and 90 yds rushing tonite. Williams rushed for 178 yds. Don't have the offensive totals yet.

Wichita Falls Hirshi(7-1) comes to Argyle next week to play for the district championship......they will be a tough out for the Eagles.

Argyle had 333 yds on the ground and 638 yds of offense tonite.......not sure what the totals are for Sanger.

Give Sanger alot of credit.......they executed well and stretched the field against Argyle. This game was closer than the score shows......Argyle capitalized on the 3 Sanger turnovers. They threw an inception right before the half into the endzone from 8 yds out......and another interception in the endzone in the 3rd quarter on their first drive was a killer. The high snap over the head of the punter was recovered on the 6 yd line by Argyle for an easy score.....but Argyle had previously had the ball stripped while marching for a score on the 22. Overall, this Sanger team is much better than the record shows and they do have some speedy and skillful playmakers on offense. Their Oline showed up well tonite and pushed Argyle around a little bit......their defense played as well as any team Argyle has faced. Looks like a battle next week against Hirschi without Copeland at QB, but next man up for Argyle......Alex Gonzales(soph.) and Clearman(junior) are very good qb's with speed and good arms.

Argyle has had quite a few big scoring plays wiped out by penalties this season. Tonite Copeland broke one for 65 yds for a TD and it was called back for a holding penalty that was flagged downfield, but had no bearing on the play. His rushing yards would and should have been about 150, not 90. Seems like this is happening every game......time to address these senseless penalties, mostly on the O-liners.

Is Copeland out for the season?

I saw it on the FSSW app. But you can only trust about half of what's on there. That's a huge loss if true.

If he can't go.......it's a shame. He was having such a great season and basically showcasing all his athletic abilities. I sure hope he can come back in the playoffs. But if not, Argyle still has 3 qb's on the team.....two of them good enough to lead this team in the playoffs.

Here's an interesting stat I was not aware of.......when the Gainesville dback stripped Lang of the ball on that run for the endzone, it was the first fumble of the season by the Argyle offense. Not the first fumble lost, the first fumble. Argyle has 10 interceptions for the year and 11 fumbles recovered.......that's quite a few takeaways to the plus side. I think Argyle has been intercepted 4 times this season. I don't know if high snaps are considered fumbles or not, but Argyle has had a few of those too, but not lost possession.

Clearman is one of the qb's in a backup role, but he is just too valuable on defense for the Eagles. Gonzales is a key skill player on offense, but his role at qb makes more sense. He's only a soph and has many tools to play multiple positions. Besides, he's most probably gonna compete for the qb position next season and is being groomed in that role this season.....although there are a couple of qb's that could make an impact next season. Clearman led the team in tackles last night, and is 2nd in total tackles for the season with 71. Chase Petter leads the category with 79, and Gage Campbell has 70. Soph dback Jake Sullivan is 4th with 42, and the next closest has 29 total tackles.

I read torn MCL and ACL. But I cannot confirm. Somebody on this board should know. Where are all the Argyle fans at that are in the know? Although Regal is an excellent poster I don't think he is close to the program to know some of these things early. There was another guy. Auguilofantico or something like that. He used to have some inside info.

I think Aguillafanatico has moved on to greener pastures with his son playing college ball now.

This guy kept Liberty Christian in the game until halftime when Gilmer played in Argyle last year. Hate to see this.

Knowing Argyle, they probably have a backup who can still take them deep, if not all the way to state.

Argyle has a couple of options at QB, both can lead the Eagles in the playoffs, But loosing Copeland is a huge hit.

I was told Copeland has a ACL tear, and partial MCL tear. But I haven't heard how long he will be out. I'm thinking he may be done for the year. No need to rush back and ruin a career.
