Cuero appears to be the real deal this season. Region IV will have some fun matchups, but it's hard to imagine the Gobblers not making it out of there as the top dog.

And we'll know much more about Liberty Christian after this Friday. The Warriors are very good defensively, but the strength lies in their defensive front seven. They manhandled Celina's offensive line. Now, granted, Celina was missing its TE who is a great run-blocker and pass catcher, and our top RB, and that was a big reason we failed to convert a handful of trips inside the 10-yard line into points. At any rate, though, LC's defensive line is big, strong and fast. That gets negated a bit, though, with as quick as Gilmer gets the ball out. It's hard to get pressure unless you've got really good pass coverage. I think LC will handle Gilmer's rushing attack just fine. But I think LC's secondary will get exposed, and I expect Gilmer to win by 2-3 TDs, though, I would not be surprised if it's a close game going into the fourth quarter.

On offense, LC won't blow Gilmer away by any stretch of the imagination. But the Warriors' offensive line is just like the defensive front ... big, strong, quick and pretty disciplined. That said, Celina's defense played very, very well all night last Friday, many times with LC having great starting field position. Celina shut down the run pretty well and didn't give up much on the pass, either. LC may be able to move the ball on the ground against Gilmer, but I'm not sure if they're athletic enough in the skill positions to do much through the air.
