LH's scouts last night be like... it's going to be a fun week boys! This could be another track meet. Run the ball at will. If the Lions can get some good work in this week on key fundamentals in assignment and tackling, the Wood takes it be 2 TD's. Should be another good one.

All I know is..LH was way ahead in efficiency, running their offense last month during our scrimmage with them, than they were the last 2 years we scrimmaged..way ahead. Anyone predicting a 14 point Brownwood win is reaching.. real far.

Sounded to me like both offenses will have no trouble scoring.....but that Brownwood may be better against the run than the pass defensively, Huh? Liberty Hill is a running team.....they pound the ball at you all night. Has LH changed their offensive scheme this year??? If not, I'm leaning toward Brownwood in a close one this week. But the game is a home game for Liberty Hill......that's a big factor in the Panthers favor. And the Liberty Hill posters here seem sort of "Giddy" about this year's team.

My giddiness has to do with the sidelines personnel. ;) I love watching our team, even in years we didn't fare too well. But there's something special about having a family member on the field, playing or not.

Anyway, I think this will be a great game.

Easy.......they gave up 365 yds passing to a host of receivers, but 313 yds to one running back.....Chase Gilmore. He had over 100% of the yards rushing.....there was negative yardage that ended up totalling less than 313 rushing. I kinda figured he must have reeled off some long ones. His longest one went for 84 yds. I also figured that Brownwood was keying on the passing game too much, and that gave Gilmore more openings. With Graham's qb......the natural tendency for the scouting report is to play pass defense. So this is the reasoning I used when I made that statement.....just to let you know. With LH, there won't be a passing game to focus on......so we will find out for sure about Brownwood's run defense when there isn't a big threat to throw the ball by a very good throwing qb.

My giddiness has to do with the sidelines personnel. ;) I love watching our team, even in years we didn't fare too well. But there's something special about having a family member on the field, playing or not.

I have one on the field playing along side dozens that I coached as far back as Kindergarten , who are now being coached by LHPMs Son, who several of the boys playing really looked up to, and the return of an awesome head coach at the perfect time......Hell yeah im a little giddy.

While running the chains last week against La Vernia, I made a few mental notes. LH is not particularly big, but they seem to have more speed than in years past. Execution of the offense was very good for this early in the season. O line had a good push most of the time. Backs were quick and when they got in the open had enough speed to take it to the house. La Vernia outsized LH on both sides of the ball. Defense showed some good things, lots of gang tackling and high level of pursuit. Noted that the pass rush was OK with the three man front, but the linebacker stunts were very effective. We threw more than i thought we would and it was effective. Stacking the box as in the past may be a big mistake. Kicking game was spot on with good punts, long deep kickoffs, and accurate extra points. It will be exciting to see how we stack up against a typically very good Brownwood team.
