LE played good ball game, The Dawgs looked terrible.
The wide receivers saved our bacon tonight, made unbelievable catches all night.
The Dawg O line got their butts kicked tonight in the running game.
The Dawg D stopped the run, but got beat on the pass.
The Dawg QB threw good passes all night, but some went to the other team.
Very bad showing for the Dawgs tonight, we were fortunate to win this game.
Dawgs will be fine, but have a lot of work to do.

Anyway, Rockets fall to Lampasas 62-67, another dang basketball game like last year, which was 70-68 in our favor.

So many are so sick of arm tackles, soft tackles (not to be confused with soft tacos), missed tackles, blown coverage by the same player who continues to get played and who continues to get roasted and toasted for touchdowns, going for it on 4th down inside your own 40 and NOT making it.

Okay, I'm done ranting.........for now.

Congrats to fellow District 9 teams who won, Fairfield and Salado! Mexia lost in overtime to Teague while LL played LV Jr College , heck LV would beat us 100-0 and Connally plays Glen Rose close.

Strange how both Gilmer and Carthage played "horribly" against L-E. They just may be a team that everyone they meet plays horribly against them deep into the playoffs.

WOS87 you are so right about LE, they just would not go down. It did not help when a certain Ref on many occasions MADE calls against the Dawgs that were game changers. The Jumbo Tron proved everyone of his calls or no calls were bad.
We did a terrible job run blocking in the first half, second half the Dawgs did much better. LE could not run on the Dawg D and they put a ton of pressure on the LE QB when he went back to pass.
LE has speed and can run with anybody in 4A D1. LE had several starters out and when they come back, this team will be a force in the playoffs.
The Dawg receivers were nothing short of amazing last night, you talking about frizzbee catching Dawgs, they were.
QB did a decent job last night, but did make some bad throws at times. The LE front seven held the Dawg running game in check for the first half, O line will get their butts worked off come Monday. K Ingram only got 12 maybe 15 carries and did not play in the fourth quarter. (saving his legs for district) We did loose our super star sophomore safety and kick returner, hopefully it is just a sprain, but he did have to go to the hospital. (Please keep him in your prayers)
All in all, very physical game with two very good teams. The Dawgs face 2 and 0 5A Whitehouse next week in what should be another very tough ball game for the Dawgs. The Dawgs will be battle tested by the time district rolls around.

Yea that's what Carthage heard last year. Then Carthage was the one shutting everybody out in the playoffs. Carthage's defense is very good, and improved from last year. Offense just put them in bad positions last night. Just saying.

El Campo played horribly every time BJ Foster got the ball but the refs cost us the game. They could see how unfair that was and should have thrown a flag anytime he touched the ball. The good news is these young Ricebirds wont see a player that good the rest of the year. Hopefully they can grow into a pretty solid bunch by playoff time.

Easy C&C. BJ Foster is a 5 star recruit, and the #2 overall recruit in Texas. He is also committed to UT. Keaontay is the man, but BJ Foster is a freak. I agree that if EC sees Keaontay they will be impressed, but I would agree they won't see any athlete as good as BJ Foster the rest of the season. Just being honest.

Yep. A team with a really good defense will beat us this year, so long as they have a very good offense, too. I really don't see us as being good enough defensively (yet) to beat a Carthage or WO-S.

Liberty-Eylau is a lot better team than most people give them credit for, especially offensively. I fully expect them to make a deep playoff run this season. We played well enough offensively against them, even though we had 3 TOs. Defensively, we really stunk it up against them. We were thoroughly confused, leaving receivers wide open, and some getting behind the defense on nearly every play. We also had a ton of penalties (some questionable). I think replacing almost our entire defensive backfield had a lot to do with that. We did improve this week quite a bit, but Center is not L-E.

I'm not surprised that they were able to make it a game with Carthage, especially this early in the season. L-E is big, athletic, and fast, always has been.
