Week 2: Yoakum @ Cuero

Cuero's season opener. Ykm comes in after beating Hondo 33-0. 108th meeting between Dog's and Gob's.

Gobbler Stadium will be packed, as these state ranked teams take to the turf. After this last week, and Harvey issues, this game is much needed.

Best wished both clubs. Should be a humdinger. I'll predict later in the week. :)

I just don't see Ykm "D" giving up more than 2 TD's here. But, it is Cuero, and they are loaded. Will be a awesome game. Line play will decide this one IMO. We give up another 100 in penalty yardage, have some TD's called back again, anything is possible from a blow out, to a nail-biter. Bo will have them settled down I think. Both teams well coached.

My girlfriend and I were at last years Cuero/Yoakum game and she is coming down with me tomorrow for the game. She got the biggest kick out of Yoakum coming out of the locker room and on to the field holding that big fork. That's one of the reasons she wanted to come with me again, to see Yoakum with the big fork to eat some turkey lol

Yeah, about that..... No show this week, had some technical difficulties with Terry being in El Paso and New Mexico. Will be back next week.

Last year, we got stuck with that fork in the end sadly. Maybe this year, we can EAT? Yes, grilling them turkey legs is always a fun event. Sure Gobbler Stadium, will be serving some hot dogs to counter our food of choice. :wave:

If the Gobblers are as good as I've been hearing I'll say Gobblers by 17.

Anytime Yoakum and Cuero meet it's going to be a slobberknocker and especially this year with so many D1 signees on both teams. Yoakum coming off a great season last year after losing to Mineola in the championship game. Cuero is ranked in the top 10 again this year and is loaded to make a deep run in the playoffs. Both teams are anchored by very good offensive and defensive lines. Both teams are loaded with many weapons on offense and I"m not expecting a low scoring game. T/O"s and the team that makes the fewest early season misques should win this game.

Line play will be the difference. As they scoot in to stop O'Henry, over the top to The Pope or the twins.

Texas A & M Coach Sumlin landed on the practice field behind Gobbler Stadium and scouted the talent on the field. Don't know what I did wrong, but the video I thought I took of it landing disappeared.
