And I just bought a condo in Corpus Christi too! Dangit!!!

Oh well, at least it's about 40 feet up off the ground and I had my contractor board it up AND it's insured to the max in case the proverbial fecal matter hits the fan.

Heck no.......get the heck outta there and take a few days off for Heaven's sake. Life is too short as it is......why push your luck, Huh? There will be plenty of time this time next week and lots of work to be done after the storm......so go to a place of safety now and get some rest.

It's looking more and more like Rockport is going to be getting the direct hit. The eye is about 55 miles offshore and is headed right for Rockport.

Harvey upgraded to Category 4. 130 mph winds and it's still offshore. More strengthening possible before landfall.

Oh wow. I'm supposed to be travelling to the CC area on Wednesday. If I'm able to make it to my condo on North Beach, I'll see if I can make it up to Rockport to see if I can lend a hand to anyone in need, especially if they're a DL member.

Eye of the storm is between Victoria , Goliad, and Cuero now. Downgraded to a tropical storm now. We haven't gotten as much rain as predicted so far. A lot of damage to some buildings. They are evacuating the Executive Inn hotel. People from out of town sought shelter there from out of town and now the roof has blown off.

Have had 8 inches of rain in Hungerford so far but no damage from winds last night Hwy 59 through Buc-eees and Walmart is a ghost road as we ate at Denny's earlier today. Whataburger was closed , Fort Bend, Brazoria County, Austin County and Colorado Counties go a lot of rains. Tornado in Katy and near Rosenberg. Most schools will have no classes on Monday possiblly Tuesday.

I stuck it out with my family and guests. Fortunately my house is on high ground. We did get some high winds and lots of rain. The house was boarded up and we stocked up on food and water. There was some damage to buildings and trees and power lines down all over town. We were fortunate in that some trees around my house blew down but they missed my house. I will have to check if we had shingle damage on our roof but that will be later. We were without power 24 hours and still no water yet. Overall we have been fortunate. God is good. Praise the Lord.

Just got notified that Katy ISD will be closed all week, as I'm sure will be the case with most Houston area school districts.

Are all our downlow people safe and accounted for, especially those of you in the coastal bend and in Houston where the worst flooding is happening?

I have heard they are providing buses for people in Brazoria county to evacuate. The major concern is the San Bernard and Brazos river.

The Brazos river is nowhere close to flood level right now, but is projected to increase 25-ft in the next 24 hours according to the project i saw. There is still time to get the hell outta there

The San Bernard river near Sweeny is projected to exceed its highest crest ever by more than 10'. A mandatory evacuation has been ordered.

The Colorado river at Lagrange is flowing over 80,000 cfs. Holy Cow! Evacuations in lower areas around Lagrange are mandatory. Prayers for all in this horrible flood/storm.

Here in Giddings, we've had over 20" of rain and it is still coming down in bucket loads.

The "eye" has moved back over to Victoria. Victoria needs prayers. They have no power, and the city has shut the water system down for whatever idiotic reason. Can't flush a toilet, can't shower, no power. And all the power poles are leaning over needing replaced. It may take weeks to get all back on power. Thankfully, they are not flooding too much.

We haven't had water or electricity since Friday. Have the generator running but am getting tired of taking cold water baths out of the sink. Using bottled water for that. They say it could be a month before we have electricity. I can live with that but I sure want me a shower.

Our prayers are certainly with all of you. There are several efforts happening here in Springfield, MO to raise money for relief efforts. My wife and I have been able to help with a few and donate to a few.

I'm back home and back to work today. We had a lot of tree limbs down, one tree cracked, but fell into an empty lot. We'll need a new roof, but overall we were VERY lucky! Praying for all our district mates: Ingleside, Aransas Pass & Rockport have SO much damage :( Stay safe everyone!

We were very fortunate here in Hungerford as the water just reached over our front yard ditch.Had a few minor leaks in the ceiling of our kitchen which was not that big of a deal. Some small branches in the front and back yards. Think we had about 25 inches of rain spread out from last Friday though last night.
Prayers helped and prayers to those who lost more and went through hard times

All Americans need to realize this is not just a disaster that affects some of Texas and Louisiana......but everyone in our nation. There will be hardships and ripple effects in many areas of our economy caused by this disaster.....therefore it is a national disaster and should be recognized as such. It is my hope and prayer that every person will do what he can to pitch in and help those that have suffered so much loss......because really we have all lost. Now the cleanup and rebuilding will begin......we will discover the extent of the losses......not counting the loss of life, but that also. We must pray as a nation for President Trump and his leadershlip......pray as a people to come together. If we don't.......this nation will cease and our enemies will overtake us. North Korea, Russia, and China are watching intently.......already highly upset with the decisions our leaders have made in world events. Is it possible that we are being punished as a nation for allowing those in power to have their way??? When good men become complacent....evil men become aggressive. There are evil men (and women) at work in our world....and especially in our nation. If we who are good do nothing, then it is us who must suffer the penalties and consequences for our actions.....or inactions. I do not believe President Donald Trump is part of the evil......he needs our support and our prayers to be able to do what he is called to do. God Bless all of those in America that are God fearing and represent all that is good in humanity. Amen.

In our manufacturing plant in Waco, we will be running 4-day workweeks for three weeks - containers stuck at Houston Port for assembling equipment, and hardware from overseas. Many many goods come through that port. I have also prepared myself for a large number of displaced Texans relocating to our area. Schools are in full mode to plan for new kids in districts.

Gregory Portland just started school on Tuesday morning with an additional 1000 new student/transfers from Rockport and Aransas Pass ISD"s. We have had to convert our gyms and athletic turf room into classrooms to accommodate the large influx of new students. It a gigantic task schooling so many new kids to our school the administrators are doing a fantastic job getting the task done.

Yes it is but the administrators are getting it done. We have built two new elementary schools in the last couple years so they are getting these older campuses ready to house students. Meanwhile multiple gyms are being readied to house this huge influx of students. This is a high task but it's one that has to happen to at least let these students have some stability back in their lives. The state is moving some portable classrooms to make it more comfortable for the students. Proud of GP to open up and help these families and their kids.
