Sinton program has face Wylie and Pleasant Grove before in state tourney but this will be the first time seeing Robinson in baseball.

Sinton most likely going with Mason Hopkins or Brett Brown. Brett Brown due next on rotation but Mason Hopkins has been pitching great all season.

I officially give up trying to understand how the UIL seeds at State. Nevertheless, it should be a great tournament, I think we have the best teams from each region.

The two best records (Wylie and Robinson) are the top two seeds and are home team for the semifinal game. They claim they randomly select between the other two for the 3 and 4 seeds.

I figured they would move up the 4A state championship since they could host. All they did was take 1A out, but nothing much else is changing...a little strange to me.

One of them will play college baseball. Just a junior.We have 3 seniors that will play Jr College next year at Midland. There are a couple of Jr's that will play college ball--#1 pitcher and catcher. Maybe some more but that is all I am aware of.

Ballgame! Wylie advances to the finals. Carlton only gives up 2 hits, 1 run. Not sure about K's.

Overall both pitches pitched great, the PG pitcher had trouble in the first and that was the difference. Great season PG.

Wylie going after the back to back feet and i believe i mention start of the season that was a hard thing to do and they're one win away from accomplishing it. Good luck to both.

Abilene Wylie becomes only the second team in Class 4A history (the old 3A) to repeat as champs. The other: SintonPirates ('88, '89)

Sinton came close in 2003, won it in 2002 but 2003 lost to unbeaten Lorena team in extra innings in championship game.

Congrats Wylie well deserved only 1 loss all year!

Congrats Robinson, Rockets seem to be loaded each year so most likely another run at it next season.

What a game! Two great teams, two undefeated pitchers, two loud and proud fan sections... playing for the State Championship. Perfect weather. Ended up being the best game I've been to in a long time. Congrats to Wylie's Zach Smith--this young man was the starting shortstop, came in as the relief pitcher to finish the game, hit the game winning home run and was voted State Championship MVP.

BTW, he was the starting QB on our State Championship runner up football team and ran anchor leg on our State Meet qualifying sprint relay team...

Now just an FYI, neither can hold a candle to lil' ol' Carthage, Texas under them Friday night lights! Have a strange feeling Carthage will be seeing 1 or the other come December at Jerry's.

Wylie is pretty decent in football and has been the top Region 1 team for most of the last 15 or so years. Add in baseball, basketball, track, tennis... we do pretty well. Now if we could just siphon off a few of those Abilene High and Cooper running backs and receivers...
