As predicted, Kevin Urbanek was promoted the new Boling ISD AD and head football coach at Tuesday's school board meeting.
Mr. Urbanek has served as the district’s interim athletic director since the position opened in April. The administration and board believe that Coach Urbanek’s thirteen years of proven success not only as an assistant head football coach and coordinator, but also his head coaching experience of Powerlifting, Basketball, and Track programs, will result in a well-rounded athletic focus and enthusiasm. Coach Urbanek has experience leading both girls and boys programs, and has proven success at all levels. After graduating from Sam Houston State University, he began his career at Needville ISD in 2003, before moving to Boling ISD in 2013. “When you reflect on the changes made within our athletic program the past four years, it is apparent that Coach Urbanek has been vital in the restructuring of our junior high program, the recruiting and retaining of highly qualified coaches, upholding our communities’ standard of program discipline, strong rapport, and much more.” We sincerely look forward to working with Coach Urbanek in his new role.
