Just looking at the brackets. We are only one round away from a first-ever baseball playoff matchup with Argyle. Coincidentally, that's where Decatur and Sanger are playing to determine which of them plays us next weekend.

Boerne 7 Wimberley 6 Boerne win series 2-0. Boerne won on a walk off 2 run hr in bottom of the 7th last night. advance and wait for winner of Sinton/Zapata series.

Gilmer' 2nd round opponent Paris actually finished 3rd in their district behind North Lamar and Pleasant Grove.

Still a huge accomplishment. Not just that they are winning but HOW. 3 shutouts and a come from behind win after being down 4-0 in game 3 against Kilgore.

For Gilmer to even get into the playoffs was some what of a miracle. They had to beat Spring Hill who was 7-2 in district at the time and still in the hunt for the district crown, then ha to have either Bullard or Gladewater lose (Bullard won, Gladewater lost) then had to beat Gladewater in a 1-game playoff (Gilmer won, 7-2). So they have been in a do or die situation for longer than any other team currently in the playoffs. In fact, I believe they are the only 4th seed remaining in all classifications.

Wylie won Game 1 against a very good 32 win Levelland squad 3-1 with a late inning comeback... still rolling. Hopefully can win Saturday and move on to a highly anticipated matchup with (I suspect) Godley. This Wylie team is very talented, very confident and very experienced. Not saying they're going to repeat as State Champs but they will be a tough out.

Wylie defeated Levelland 12-3 in game 2. Was able to get some pitchers some work that have not pitched in awhile. Wylie and Godley in a rematch from the regional finals last year where Wylie was able to comeback in the bottom of the 7th in a one game playoff for the win. Should be a great game/series.

The one thing that was a bit unusual was that Levelland had solid black uniforms with red pinstripes. It was over 100 today and I would guess 130+ on the full turf field. I would not want to play baseball in full black uniforms when it was this hot.
