Not as good as Carthage's, but still pretty solid for a football team which hasn't even had a winning season in at least a decade.

Their new athletic director is a far better salesman than Jeff Traylor was. He actually had to win a state championship here before he got the Gilmer board to okay any improvements.

Good deal. We had one installed at our new baseball facility last year, and I think everyone is happy for it. We definitely could use one for football.

Seguin ISD has that beat easily!! Spent 1.3 million for one of the largest Trons at a High School and Former (I said Former) Supt. Stetson Roane led the charge and the Board granted him Complete approval!! Go Matadors!!!! Last winning season 2006. Last Playoff win was in 1988 and only 3 10 win plus seasons dating back to 1912!!!

Meanwhile up Hwy 123 a few miles Navarro has surpassed Seguin in Playoff wins, appearances and 10 win plus seasons!

Well, they're still getting the board, but there was such an outcry that it's now going to have to be paid for by private donors. Just read it on the Twitter feed of the reporter who wrote the initial story.

They are lucky because SEGUIN ISD was told by the former Supt. that we had 2 years to pay. When the new board took over it was a1.2 million check out of a depleted GF since the new HS was 20 million over!

The tailgate Board was then sent back for a 26 K credit and saved an extra 100 K installation! Our former Supt screwed the district over. The article sounds exactly like Nevco told our people. To date our Board has not generated any revenue!!

They need to invite Navarro over and make sure the home score actually accepts points! Or if it just stays stuck on Zero lol

Someone on Twitter was saying to just put a permanent 0 where the home score goes.

Why? The one you have has worked well of lately.

That scoreboard has definitely been fair to us, ha. The biggest improvement that we need is seating at the baseball facility. We have bathrooms in the dugouts, a video scoreboard, a club house, a large event center.......and room for only about 200 people to actually sit.

All you have to do is take a look at Mumford and La Grange to see how to do it right.

Brownwood approved a 499,000 scoreboard this year from a company called "Daktronics." (sp)

We have tried to keep it quite or Garciap77 will be down slinking around with his camera...He really like our old scoreboard and as Slingblade would say "He made quite a bit of sport out of it"...;)

Mumford has a crazy good facility right smack dab in the middle of nowhere. Craziest thing is that they barely play baseball. They don't start practice until after basketball state tourney, and don't play any tournament or non district games. Will say, they are doing well this year. They get a ton of playoff games on their field each year.

Offense wasn't the problem with Seguin this past fall. They scored 365 points in a 2-8 season. The problem was giving up 434 points. Superintendent and most of school board now gone, but the taxpayers still lose as we have some hefty bills to pay (scoreboard and superintendent buyout).
